You know what these lists are missing? The entire OST series of mechs. Seriously, they were in the original TRO3025. Why does no one mention these?

These I certainly agree with.

Looking over my list of desirable 'mechs, I'd add;

Medium
Starslayer - 2772, 50 tons, great torso mounts, E weapons
Lynx - 2761, 55 tons, great mounts, E weapons

Heavy
Galahad - 2570, 60 tons, E/B weapons, successor to the Rifleman
BattleAxe - 2459, 70 tons, E/M weapons, JJs, precursor to the Hammerhands & Warhammer
Dragoon - 2771, 70 tons, great arm mounts, E/B weapons, ECM, technically extinct in 3025

Assault
Rampage - 2767, 85 tons, E/B/M weapons, MASC
Emperor - 2612, 90 tons, potentially great mounts, E/B weapons
Pillager - 2594, 100 tons, E/B weapons, JJs
Thunder Hawk - 2771, 100 tons, E/B weapons

***Please note that I'm making comments based on 3025 or earlier models listed on Sarna, which may or may not be available in the HBS BT timeline***

Yeah. The entire lot of those is extinct in 3025, though the designs are mostly revived in some fashion post-Clan Invasion.

Because they're Harmony Gold impacted designs, much like the Marauder.

Weren't they declared non-infringing because of all the changes made from the Zentradi Battle pods? I mean hell, they look less like Battlepods than the PGI Marauder looks like an Officer Pod, and that's just the original TRO3025 art! I'm sure PGI's changes would go even further, if for no other reason than because they have a standardized look for weapon systems.

Galahad YUS. thunder hawk definently has potential to look good. Pillager YES for sure would love to see it.. Emperor only if it looks like the experimental image one.

Id love to see otscout but it only has 1 hardpoint across all variants. Id actualy want pgi to add this mech without infalting hardpoints on it, would be interesting. Would definently be a QP mech

Ostroc

Ostol

The Ostroc would definitely be a good choice for the next heavy IS Mech. The Ostsol is solid too, although I'd prefer the Ostroc for its JJ.
It is sad that they are so overlooked because they would work really well in MWO. There is also an extra cool hero Mech - Jerome Blake's Ostroc. (And yes I know, it is a canon rumour and likely untrue. But we had that before and I surely prefer canon rumour over pure PGI inventions).

And obviously they fit in HBS BT as well as in MWO.

The OTT-9S and -11J have three hardpoints, and the -9CS has four. Granted, two of them need MWO-adjustment for using non-MWO equipment, but that has been done in the past too.

I can see it work, although it would be far from the best light Mech option. It is, however, one of the most beautiful options.

Until and unless a sensor-specialized design would actually be meaningful in MWO (read: probably never) I'd rather see the Ostsol/Ostroc show up. They're so similar to each other than modeling one would do most of the work to model the other.

We could also draw from TRO 2750 for some designs, as some the designs present within still exist in the IS(albeit, particularly rare, akin to hanger queens).

The Ostroc is pretty interesting but I still want the Lancelot instead.

If I had to pick just one from each weight class
- Mongoose, 20t is too light to seriously use jj instead of more weapons so I gotta go with the 25t Mongoose. Fun to say name, great hps and decent build variety. Plus the legs could be hard to hit.
- I don't like either of these tbh. Neither offers much.
- Flashman or Lancelot. Both are excellent picks for both games.
- Longbow but only if MWO gets it's NAIS variant somehow

Chameleon 50 tons debuts in 2510 but used almost exclusively as training mech.
No reason for PGI to not add it because it has 6 canonical variants that use up to current era MWO tech...
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Chameleon

Mackie 100 tons first trials 2439 (first true BattleMech)
Uncertain if PGI would consider adding it because only 5 canonical variants and a 6th prototype with primitive armor.
But as the first true BattleMech produced from 2439 until sometime after 2766 it should have way more variants even if unbelieveably rare by 3025, much less by 3060's MWO era.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mackie

Merlin 60 tons debuts in 3010
It was the sample Mech for construction rules since the first rulebook (Battledroids)
But NO unseen image and it did not get an image until TRO 3058 in 1995!
Unlikely PGI will add Merlin because only 4 canonical variants and a 5th experimental in 3075
It was in construction rules since day 1... and likely had way more variants irl then 6 needed for PGI mechpacks. :D

In mech list, I see urbie and Black Knight, but, despite 70 hours of gameplay, I haven't met them.....
Btw, I met the Battlemaster and Zeus only 2 times, too Posted Image

I came across Black Knight just yesterday just barely won.
Strangely I haven't seen Battlemaster or Zeus and urbie yet.

It is, outside of museum pieces. There were barely triple digits of the modern versions left to take on the Exodus, and the Successor States had decommissioned theirs before then in favor of homegrown designs like the Ymir and Gladiator. Even those first-generation homegrown had pretty much gone extinct going into the Successor Wars, leaving their successors as the machines most people are familiar with from Battletech and MechWarrior.

The Charger and Thug are the only logical Assault mech choices for Battletech since they survived the 3025 era.
