So do I, but I don't think most players could handle it...

#11. Armor does work, it's just weapons are accurate and pin point. Heck they even doubled the armor in beta. And now we have the skill tree and quirks giving more.

Except the Atlas. Atlas is still stuck at its 19.5 ton (standard armor) cap. Feels bad man.

OP I was pretty shocked when I saw in an old patch notes you get extra points for shooting people in the back

shoot turrets/gens with LRMs well you cant have that but shooting people in the back is good

crazy

In my head cannon mechs emitting EM radiation would be dead within minutes of joining battle (in a peer level conflict). I like to think mech sensors are passive electro optical systems which helps reconcile why weapon range is so limited.

Way OT... in your view was the mmw apache D/hellfire considered to be survivable on the central front?

computers are pretty much all commador64s in inch thick depleted uranium cases, they have fusion reactors and ftl, but dont know how any of it works. robots are made in automatic factories, which they dont know how to build. also war, lots and lots of war.

Heh. Lorewise, not only are mechs supposed to have a full 360 radar, they're also supposed to have a full 360 display screen.

Which is to say, there's supposed to be a display in the cockpit (either in the HUD or a whole separate monitor) that sits above front view window that shows the mechwarrior a full 360 view around the mech. It ought to look something like this full 360 view of Bogota:

The entire point of this system is to help the Mechwarrior maintain situational awareness. But AFAIK, no Mechwarrior game has ever implemented such a feature, but at least gave a full 360 radar until MWO. For some reason, PGI decided that even a full 360 radar was "too OP".

Read the lore.

The lore says every mech ever made has a full 360° view of the mech's surroundings in all cardinal directions. So that one's covered.

You should choose one - Light mech are playable or 360 radar. You can't have both.

We have UAVs, 360 target retention and we have the minimap and still people get tunnelvisioned and backstabbed and dont lick mechs. Im not saying we should have 360 radar, itd invalidate a lot of skill / situational awareness that the better players have developed, but i do think for most it wont matter :P

Also, there IS stock only mode in the lobby, as asked for by the community. Dont know how much activity it gets though, like a lot of features demanded for by the community...

There's stealth armor, ECM and all these other goodies which do just that.
Light mechs are garbage with or without it. In fact, they might even be better at their job at disrupting the opposite line if the crap players get to see a blimp on the radar behind them and start playing chase the squirrel in their Kodiak or Anni, the kind of mechs which stay behind and can't do much to a light.

Really, the only thing which would be hurt are people who can't play as lights to save their life and rely on parking behind an enemy to line up a shot. Which only works against terribad players and teaches them a habit that ends up in them getting blasted off the face of the Earth before doing 10 damage in a real match.

ECM effectively gives away any mech trying to go for rear shots. The jam effect is a dead giveaway.

This presumes that a lights only and best job is to be bait. Which is a stupid thing to think. Even if it were true, you should be advocating for them to stop that being true, not to make them better at it.

Literally every light player and mech would be hurt by 360 radar. Every single one of them, good or bad.

360 visual, NOT 360 radar. So yeah, you can look behind you.
