Seeing a lot of matches with many pilots with sub 100 damage scores.

Is it just the matchmaker giving up?

There's an ongoing event.
Many people put completing the challenges above anything else.

Also large number of players who only play when there's an event - they're not up to date with the current meta.

Nor, do we care about the current meta or dysfunctional gameplay.... We play for MC and MC alone: no leaderboards, no epeen or anything else.....

It's what this game we love has come down to.........not, what is was suppose to be.... Sorry.

1. Average player skill and match quality has been in free fall since Christmas
2. Event is going on, which has a predictable effect on the quality of player, even on top of the above noted skill drop
3. At least 2 days ago, Matchmaker was pretty much blown wide open. I had multiple matches with people claiming to be T4, and the huge quantity of tagless players in matches seems to support that

MM valves are wide open at this point, because HBS Battletech really seems to have done a number on the average player count. Combine that with an event that encourage unartemised LRM 10 use, and you get a lot of screwy play on top of already unstable teambuilding.

When you see Jenner D's running around with an LRM 10, you know you have a problem

That LRM10 event should have been completed with in 5 minutes of posting. Am I wrong to assume most people who play this game (who are not retired) work first shift jobs? Given the split between NA and Europe there is no excuse for event caused shenanigans on day two.

Maybe people are just that bad.

Been like that for a long time...at least for me, and not just during events. Plenty of posts over the past 12 months pointing out games like that. Glad others are finally starting to experience it. I'm playing even less QP now that S7 is out.

Now let's see if anything is done about it. My bet is...NO.

sub 100 scores arent because ttk is too short. players are timid, and when they finally do engage either the enemy is ready for them, or there is nobody to back them up because they are all dead. look at the units in fp pull off a push, they are often over before you knew what hit you. they didnt gather at the door and wait for everyone else to be a meat shield for them or to loose trades, they gathered to push, they pushed, and all those potatoes who didnt know what was going on paid the price. inaction causes more deaths than the largest laser vomit alphas ever could.

to be fair on the guy using the cicada 3c they nuked it from high orbit and its nothing more than hot garbage now.
Was once my favorite mech then the skill tree happened and they totally destroyed it.
I have been trying to get a build that works on it but its dead, once again thanks PGI so no more mech packs for me

It is more important to grind for MC than to have good scores.

Dang it. Couldn’t you block out all the names so I could use that screen shot to prove out matchmaker if I decided to research it? Now someone can claim name-and-shame and get it removed, even if I’m just showing how the current PSR is a bad metric for matchmaker.

Oh, well. Probably better off anyway. Someone would call me an e-peen man-child even though I’m trying to use data to make play experience better for all.

Actually surprised MM put us on the same team. Usually puts me opposite all 99th percentiles in a game. After that one, I actually had a game with SKINLESS instead of against him, which is usually the case.
