Seriously, do you?

I really wonder just how deep you actually think about your balancing decisions because it appears you don't with your new ghost heat on Clan weapons. Here think about this.

Here is a list of mechs I own that are going to require partial or full rebuilds to include possibly having to respec large chunks of skills.

1 Summoner Build
2 Cougar Builds
1 Ice Ferret Build
1 Stormcrow Build
1 Ebon Jag Build
2 Hellbringer Builds
2 Nova Cat Builds
1 Sun Spider Build
2 Timber Wolf Builds
2 Gargoyle Builds
1 Kodiak Build
1 Mad Cat Mk II Build
3 MAD IIC Builds
1 Super Nova Build

So 21 of my mechs screwed over by this nerf which will likely require a complete rebuild, which will require hours and hours of testing to prefect, not to mention millions and millions of C-bills as I might have to go as far as buying multiple XL engines of different sizes to accommodate the new weapons build outs. Then there is all the weapons I will have left over which I will only get half value for if I sell them off. Oh and lets not even talk about the skill builds I have on these mechs that are built around the specific weapons combos which will need to be changed so hours of grinding XP and Cbills for that as well. Many of these mechs are my "Go To" mechs as well which means they are the ones I log in every night to play and no I am not a clanner as I have over 100 IS mechs in my stable as well.

Chirs, this is how you piss off your players and make people like me, who spend $300+ a year on your game, stop spending money and start bad mouthing your game.

What else is there to do but build and rebuild mechs in this game ? Youre kind of hating on the best part of it.

I'll be honest, not a whole lot of people are going to care that you have to re-roll your builds after a balance change. This is pretty common in MMOs.

That isn't what is poop about these changes.

What sucks about these changes are that they make the game less fun.

Eh, tide comes in, tide goes out. Meta dies in fire and is reborn. Ssdd.

Perhaps tomorrow we're all complaining about ATMs and Rotaries.

Really. I don't have to rebuild my ships every month or so in WoWS. I went though quite a few nerfs back in the day in Everquest but never had to completely change out all my armor and weapons to be able to play my character. It didn't cost me hours of grind and re-equiping when they made changes to my characters in WoW either. Oddly enough, of all the MMOs I have played since well, since UO first released (that was the first MMO right or was it Meridian 59?) I don't recall having to scrap and rebuild everything I own every time they made a change to the game.

I do agree on the making things less fun though because to me having to rebuild all these mechs is going to be like pulling teeth. I just want to be able to log on and enjoy playing, not see half the mechs I own made so screwed up that I end up spending more time in the training grounds trying to come up with new builds rather than actually engaging in a match. Hell several of those mechs I list only became good, fun mechs because of the current builds I run on them. My Summoner for example with 2 HLL and 4 MPL. Had it for 3 years and felt it was crap until I put that build on it, now it is one of my favorite mechs. Both my Gargoyle builds rely in mass HMLs for the most part, now they are going to be too hot to run and probably back on the scrap heap. Hell even if the changes don't outright land the mech on the scrap heap, many are just going to be outright less fun to play.

I am just so damn sick of it.

Lets not forget that PGI created a blunder like this before when Clan tech just came out and Paul decided 2 and half months later to make Ghost Heat on Clan ERLS from Minimum Heat Penalty reduced to 2 (from 3). This didn't sit well everyone and it ended bad. lots of folks left the game and PGI had to reverse it a day or 2 later. This is like Blunder 7.0 now since 2014. You got loyal customers who are not happy with this and are tired of garbage excuses.

Folks, that is the price you pay for enthusiastically playing the "Wanna buy a Mech Pack?" game. You are just reaping what you have sown.

You'll just have to get more creative with your builds.

I was most happy with two heavy large on my Shadow Cat. With six machine guns, this build made one of my most beloved mechs to play viable.

Had been anticipating a link with heavy larges and other types of lazors with ghost heat. As they have now with 2 large pulses and meds.

This reduction however has me shaking my head...again.

Now though we are really going to be limited to 1 heavy large and 4 mediums without ghost?

So wait let's think about this. IS armor and structure has been buffed to handle and be competitive against alpha's in the 60-72 range. But now they are brought down to the same 46 pts of damage as super quirked IS?

If they had done this move and announced with it they were finally getting rid of armor and structure quirks which seems to be something they have played lip service to for quite some time, I would have been up for giving it a shot.

This however is screwy. Lets equal the firepower out while keeping all of the armor.... I mean how did this idea make it through?

Really hope that this is one PGI takes a hard look at and perhaps consider capping clan ermeds at five, and linking ghost heat with other lazor types. So that the hardpoint starved mechs don't die and get the shaft this will bring.

Probably need the community to step up and start cancelling all preorders to get PGI to take a look at other options.

So you have like 40 'Mechs that all play identially:

Press 1 button with as many lasers stacked into it as the game will allow.
Hide behind something for 10+ seconds.

It is a pathetic playstyle for players who want to substitute 'Mech lab math for in-game intuition.

... by the 82 people who still play it. if it helps, I think most players would support PGI increasing the payout on ghost drops to 255,000 cbills.

To be fair Chris has to be objective. Which most players are not. Can't have their precious favorite thing nerfed.
