Typical sales I either already own many of the mechs, or know enough about them to know which ones I do or don't want. This particular sale has quite a few mechs I don't own and don't really know anything about.
I have been eyeing a possible BushWhacker purchase for a while now, probably the P2 or X2... maybe both.
Other than that, looking at C-Bill mechs only for now, anything on the sale list you would strongly recommend?

P2 sucks. Get the P1, and the X2. MCIIs are on sale, and you should grab those--you save up to 5 million C-Bills on the deal.

Okay, the MadCat II is another one that was on my 'check mech' list. I apparently didn't play all the same previous MW titles as everyone else because I honestly don't remember ever using a MC II (thus, no nostalgia for them).
Is there a standout in the MC II selection? I tend to prefer Laser mid-long range poke, and something in missiles or ballistics for short-mid range punch. Occasionally the reverse... AC/2 or 5 for poke, and MPLs for short-mid punch.

Deathstrike if you are willing to pony up the MC for the hero. I also like the MCII-B which offers an excellent platform for Dual uAC/10, Dual UAC/5 plus a pair of ER MLs for back up. My last choice would be the MCII-1 as you can do some really decent builds with the 4 Energy and 2 Ballistics.
As for missiles on a MCII, don't do it. I mean yeah you can if you really, really want to but the "Bunny Ears" sticking way up on the top of the mech make for really good targets and I personally feel in most cases the added side torso vulnerability isn't worth it especially when there are so many good builds you can come up with that don't require missiles.
Edit: As for the Bushwacker, I am going to just go ahead and disagree with El Bandito and say the P2 is my absolute favorite and best performer out of the entire lot. It is hands down my number one choice when I want to wack things with my wacker. The P1 is a good choice though, if you like playing with Splat especially since the Bushwackers make excellent brawlers even if you chose to run an XL.
