As you say you are open-minded I will help you in your search. First thing: If you are seriously looking for a unit...shelve the Lrms and get decent enough with direct fire weapons. Lrms are not used by any half-way decent team in FW (unless it’s Derp Night or something). Direct fire is king and you need to get at least decent with it to be an asset to any unit. Second thing: once you are decent enough with that (and have a few decent mechs for one side or the other) look up the various units Teamspeak channels and see about getting in a drop with a unit that is on your side of the conflict. Most units are willing to have you along, just listen and follow orders, even if you feel it will might get you killed...plus don’t bring Lrms....unless they somehow specifically ask for Lrms.

thanks for the advice. i wasnt aware Lrms was frowned upon. since seeing this i am working on direct shooting with mechs like the Rifleman (RFL-DB, The Griffin (GRF-AR), and the Atlas (AS7-KR). I have 11 Mechs that are not trial, but some are missile based, Lie the A1(c) Catapult, and the MDD-RV Mad Dog.
I would like a Group thats just willing to talk, teach, mold me into a proper team player as well. i defiantly dont expect to be ding anything competitive or that will affect any groups for a while.
Ill be checking the fourms about evey hour or so through Us day time frame.

Ok...you have a limited amount of mechs and they are mostly IS. I am going to refer a leader (Ironwolfpack64) of a small unit to you, who is dedicated IS (for the moment anyway), knows what you can do (best) with that Solaris pack and is willing to teach new players with limited mechs how to play FW. He drops with my unit a fair bit and is a pretty good player you could probably learn from. He can help you get a playable deck together and when you have one you would also be welcome to come by 07’s TS and join in on a few drops with us as well.

Any IS mech with missile hardpoints can mount MRMs - which are unguided, but provide a much larger up-front alpha per hardpoint and are reasonably decent for mid-to-short range fire support.
That Catapult A1? Put 6xSRM-6 on it and a Light Fusion engine ( Build, Skills ). It takes a while to get the hang of the playstyle - basically you should hug terrain / friendly Assaults and not expose yourself until your team gets into brawl range - but once you're there, this thing is a monster.

It sounds to me like you're looking for a unit with a training program and at least a semi-regular training schedule. That's exactly the same reason why I joined HHOD a few months back. Tell you what - join our TeamSpeak at ts3.hhod.com:7345 - we're always happy to help newcomers learn the ropes.
