wheres the matchmaker's little "getting dropped on your head" icon that it used to show? could probably use it nearly every round now.

On serious note, that thing can turn into big poop slinging, but it also may improve general match quality:
If we had something like player Tier icon next to his name or any other indicators of player being new/inexperienced, along with having indicators of vets/good players, there could be happening more coordination in general, especially since tiers are open, and fresh guys are dropped with dudes playing since forever. Thing is, when PUG drops, nobody has any idea what players are around, and it is extremely rare case when newbie says he's new and asking for directions. If we had any indicators of this, people might actually just be more active over Comms, chat, etc, and break down easy stuff inexperienced players are usually missing, which may improve a lot in the match flow.

Nonsense. As many of us were told, no one, and I mean no one, who plays an FPS such as MWO is going to be interested in a turn based strategy game like Batteltech. Didn't you know that they are totally different games with absolutely no cross-market appeal? Its just crazy talk to even suggest that the population of this here shooter whose limited popularity is driven by nostalgia for a 30 year old IP, would be diluted by another game using similar assets and even more immersed in that nostalgia. So stop telling such bald face lies. No players of MWO are playing or even interested in Battletech. Any drop in population and MM quality must be due to something else beside Battletech. Probably aliens. Maybe atmospheric interference? Seasonal allergies perhaps? Hay fever?

There are enough people who beat BT by now and getting back to MWO, because once you beat BT, you can't play it endlessly like MWO, and people still need that stompy mech fix, along with BT having piss poor selection of said mechs... yet anyway. I'm sure that both BT and upcoming MW5 serve as great ad for MWO itself, much better than what ads PGI can come up with.

Many good players with good teamwork are playing in FP from what i can say.
If i drop QP, then just for testing new FP builds. But thats enough what i see there. Playing Assaults in QP is pretty much bad, no one will help you or wait for you.
QP=Heavy Mech Nascar
Come on, join our FP family, the one and only place in MWO where at least a bare minimum of tactics & teamplay is used.
And the more friends you bring, the more tactical and team focused elements you can use.

Eh. I play Assaults most of the time and my Annis and CP-S are pretty slow. Can't say that I feel bad about playing them. Or that I feel like I need to rely on my team's support to do well in them. I actually find that I'm far more at my team's mercy if I'm playing something lighter.

Glad to hear that. My comment is for sure my subjective opinion and referring to Solo QP

I don't get why people don't talk at all in PUGs and why LRMs are their raison d'etre. Trying to push as a heavy or assault 90% of the time ends up in you dying no one wants to back you up. Sitting behind a hill and waiting for the enemy to come to you is boring as ****.
You go to give back up to someone, they leave the area and then you're by yourself while the centre is a big shitfight. No one uses comms, barely anyone speaks in team chat. Do i need to go premium to be put into a decent team?

I suggest allowing people to wear pants just in case of some shocking revelations that might bring.
Like really man some things should stay a secret.
Thing is, you get +1 Piloting and Gunnery skill checks by not wearing pants.
And a higher heat threshold.
