Because you were forced to agree to an European privacy mandate and PGI was worried that Americans would leave MWO once they read what was in that mandate.... Kinda of a consolation prize if you will....

The most cynical answer I can realistically come up with is they want more data regarding the boating of clan lasers. That or the call is coming from INSIDE YOUR HOUSE!

I was thinking of trying the set of 8 with MPL. It's like -10% MPL heat.
But I have a crab already

6x MPL + 4x MG and a Laser AMS (swap the side torsos for the full 8-piece set) seems pretty good, if you can keep from being focussed to death. (I can't apparently)

Try the ERmeds and a ton of heatsinks for a rabid poking mech.

One of the worst buckets I had "pleasure" to pilot. Considering how it's build, you literally always will be boating lasers in it, with insignificant support stuff like MG/AMS/etc. This makes this mech EXTREMELY hot, no matter how many heatsinks you gonna shove inside. Much worse thing about is that it has gigantic, paper thin STs you have no chance of successfully shielding if you get focused, and it explodes instantly no matter how much skills you sink in Survival tree. And the final shot in the head is that mech is brutally slow for Medium poker/flanker. Superhot, paperthin, slow-to-the-crawl Medium, how does that sound? Awesome!

Seriously, I'm triggered, because I already went to hell of leveling NVA-S I had "luck" buying sometime ago, and now I'll have to level this bucket from the scratch (because of my freaking OCD) and sell previous one. The only thing that ease my mind is Double Exp event. I just hope this horror movie won't go for too long...

You can swap pods though... 15-16Tons isn't a huge amount but you can build in a sniper or maybe a mid ballistic with some support tools or a few lasers. It does come with 5jj, 4 dhs fixed so technically 22.5Tons of equipment with fixed equipment. I think i can get something cludged together with pod swaps.

If you wanna know what the Nova can do well, it's quite a capable ERPPC poptart:

Of course you can do things like ERML boating, SPL boating, blah blah blah, but other mechs can do that better.

The Nova is excellent for poking around buildings (or allied assault mechs), it's just that the stock loadout for this variant is crap. Move all 6 medium lasers into one arm, then use that side for poking. Fill up the other arm with more heat efficient close combat weapons like small or micro lasers in case the enemy manages to close on you. Try not to face tank unless you are sure the laser volley you are firing back will bring your opponent down, which usually requires an open torso part.

OP I think PGI was a little concerned that people
would say screw this and not rejoin the game and really tank there numbers

so a little incentive was in order

the X2 XP is another great idea

the Nova I remember trying one when it was a trial Mech years ago and it was super super
hot (takes some skill to run one a skill I don't have)

I already striped the one I have I just need to make sure I wont loose the Mech bay if I sell it

does anyone know if you get to keep the Mech bay?

Yes, you keep the mech bay. Just triple check you strip before selling and keep in mind mechbays are worth at most 2.00, or as little as 40 cents on sale.

I have 6 mechs. My first mech was purchased with C-Bills. I now have five mechs delivered free.

The Nova is worth a lot to players that don't have one. As a FTP player, it's worth it. Trust me on that. I will take any mech that is free.
