As a minimalist by nature, I am not a big fan of collecting things which are no longer of use. Sorting through clutter detracts from my gaming enjoyment.
I've got these mechs in my bay which I will NEVER use, but I cannot sell. Will this ever be addressed?

You can email support and they can delete mechs form your account instantly.
I got the loyalty Urbie to go away with this method. BUT YOU CAN'T GET THEM BACK! So be careful...

Selling or deleting mechs is kind of stupid in a game where the following month there could be amazing quirks handed out and it'll suddenly be meta.
Not that it is very likely but it could happen.

I wouldn't even if they let me. I like most of them and it would take years to get all that xp back.

You could just use the "favorites" tab for the mechs you actually use, and that's it.

Is there a way you can give them to someone else?

Simple solution that requires no removal of mechs.. mark only the ones you use or want to use as favourites, then change your mechlab sorting scheme to only show the favourites.

I don't really think it is an issue. Making the non-sellable is better than dealing with a lot of idiots who sell them accidentally/while drunk/emotional and asking for it to be restored. I am guessing there are a lot less people who want stuff deleted as opposed to the potential amount of work needed to handle the ones that will get rid of it for one reason or other and ask for it back.
At least if you officially request for it to be removed and the policy is to never give it back, they will only have to deal with a person once as opposed to someone who keeps selling crap and requesting it back.
In terms of maintaining reasonable levels of support for more important issues, you either need to put mechanics or policies in place to minimize trivial stuff like this.

You are not the arbiter of what is trivial or not in the world.
What is important to one person is different than another. If you ever deal with children you will learn that lesson quickly.
While your opinion is noted be careful that you do not state it so much as fact, for that would be a fallacy.
