Hi everyone,

today should be Hellspawn day, shouldn't it? I waited a long time to get a missing IS chassis for my collection :D

Come on, PGI!

And btw - which variant should I get?

I have low opinion on the Hellspawns, but the 7D with ECM + MRM40 + lasers could be fun to poptart with.

I looked at the variants - so I will go for ECM plus SRM6s and lazors, plus a LFE. That will probably be the 7D as well...

Why does this Mech have so extremely underwhelming quirks??

From what I've seen, you shouldn't get one. They seem utterly mediocre. Bad, even.

I have all of them. Each one is terrible in its own unique way.

Sadly they are not good. I got the best results so far with with one big mrm40 on the arm mount (the side troso has the missilebaydoors which are awefull on all mechs) and a 4mpl stealth armor 7D.

For something so squishy they are just way too big.

Just too big.

They melt to anything.

Tleast the ones I saw.

I wanted to love it, will buy one. In lore its a mech I could of loved. But in game they seem, highly lacking. Probably will grabe the 7D and maybe an LRM carrier.......... well in lore it was a lrm carrier.

To me that makes it a mech to buy when it is out for imaginary space bucks instead of real money. Bad mechs you buy for cbills are generally worth it, and if that terrible and you are hard up for mech bays you can always return it for an imaginary shave....

I always liked the Hellspawn, being the oddball design that it was, so I'm picking one up. At the very least it'll be a test run to remind me whether or not to buy the Paralyzer (probably not buy, though).

Then you should be able to open doors at the start of a match and forget about it... usually it's the "/" key.

What you should do is get something to SHOOT the fools who bothered getting a Hellspawn with C-bills, much less the bigger ones that bought them for MC or even real money.

It's a terrible, sad chassis right now and is in dire need of welfare quirking.

And how is increasing your profile and some wonky hitbox helpfull?

Its not that bad, but you have to put in alot of effort to have good matches.

I have them all don't waste your money..

They are some of.. if not the worst mechs in MWO, i actually think these things are far worse than Uziels and thats a tough call..

They literally have shoulder mounts that draw fire even if you don't put missiles in them.. They have a missile pod right in the center of their chest... If you run with it open you die.. if you don't you have that awkward 2 sec shooting thing and die anyway..

Literally a garbage fire mech, no one uses these things for a reason!

Sad was one of my favorite mechs in MW4 but as with the thanny its lacking in MWO, give it a few months for it to get quirked up to compensate for its ultra tubby hitbox.

I found the Hellspawn can be played as a slower Shadowcat. 3 ERLL or 2 PPC with ECM + JJs and snipe from a distance. It can also do some interesting brawler builds but it depends on how interested you are in taking a 45 tonner into a brawl.

This

And playing ‘possum with stealth armor is fun no matter your tonnage!

If you have to put in a lot of effort, while others put in far less, there's something wrong with your choice of giant robot and it needs some love. Even the WinVindicator has it's day now, but it took recognizing a bad piece of work for what it is and slapping on dat quirk spackle to patch the holes.
Hellbringers are gonna need a few buckets of that stuff.
