I think we are getting a Heavy
and these I have selected are good for MW5
(Don't make fun of my Exterminator, I wanted the Annihilator and many were scared it would be bad but it turned out to be the opposite)

Lancelot - Fast and pricy

Mehlin -?????? waste for 40 dollars until the release of mw5

Champion - I want to put 12 jumpjets on this and sport 12 mguns and 4 mls

Galahad - this thing better get 10 ballistic slots, 400 engine cap and armor of the dragon so it can mgun mechs to death

Bombardier - Poor man's Archer

Crusader - Harmony Ugly is why we can't have this.

Exterminator - Very good option because, It's the fastest 65 ton heavy to come into the game/comes with jjs/many direct-fire weapons/Stealth armor potential due to lack of CLPS and it looks cool! (This will give Linebackers a run for their money and stealth armor will allow for exterminator rushes)

Gullotine - this mech is basically a filler mech

Shootist - This with 1 AC20 and 4mpls make it a very good brawler but it will be outdone by a Noobhammer

Excalibur- What am i supposed to to do with this?

Flashman - A top dog that's 10ton+ and costs cbills (maybe 3 LPL and 5 MPL)

Only because of it's uber quirks haha. Don't rely on PGI to just quirk something. It's better to go with mechs that don't need them.

I actually like the Exterminator but I would be worried by it's lack of hardpoints.

The Excaliber needs heavy inflation as well but some of my favorite mechs have missiles and ballistics mixed.

The Flashman is easily the best mech you've listed and I'd describe it as a straight upgrade over the BK. Bigger engine, more or same number of HPs, Round body good for volumetrics and dmg spreading, higher mounted weapons.

You did overlook the Lancelot which is basically also a better Rifleman.

If we're going over mechs that work for 3025 then there's also the Merlin but it's just so meh.

If it's not an IS Omni (i.e. Raptor), then it doesn't matter to me. Not buying.

There is only one heavy not already in the game, IS or otherwise, that I have any desire for:

Hmmmm.... not counting stuff I just think are not gonna happen soon (though the Vulcan caught with my pants down, so take that for what it's worth... I think Russ did that just to screw with my head!)

I want... a 60 tonner.

Argus is my first choice. BUT......

Champion, Ostroc or Lancelot all have their charms.

Ostroc just to see what Alex would do with the ugly sucker.....
Lancelot cuz FAST and a legit variety of variants.
Champion cuz.. different and kinda weird geometry and all over the place hardpoints... I like it.

Merlin just because.... why not?

Solo mi dos pesos.

I'm hoping for a Juggernaut with timeline appropriate weapons systems.

To be honest, I just want an at least somewhat metalicious Mech for once after half a dozen nostalgia driven stillbirths (and one wasted opportunity).
Yes, nostalgia sells. But really, how many people enjoy their Thanatoi, Uziels, Hellspawns etc. in game? Those Mechs have effectively vanished from MWO because nobody can have fun with them. If a Mech is too bad, nobody can enjoy it.

And the BTU is full of IS Mechs with potential to be enjoyable. And that means meeting minimum standards in terms of geometry, engine, and hardpoints (layout and placement).

PS: of course, I do have my nostalgia choices. It's just that my nostalgia is not limited to some 18 year old cheesy video game. And I know when my nostalgia gets in the way of enjoying my Mechs in MWO.

Since the tech-update I am not worried about having few hardpoints. Also, one Exterminator variant has 8 energy hardpoints (EXT-4Db)...

The Exterminator would require a hell of a pilot to make use of the large XL engine, if one wants it, but geometry and hardpoints look good actually.
The Excalibur... it's cool. It might work with a UAC/10, a MRM40, and a large engine. I mean, I want it and I am sure I would have a good time with it. But realistically there are more powerful options like the Dragon Fire you like, the Lancelot, the Falconer...

Including one variant with JJ, and another with ballistics as main armament. The Lancelot is really somewhat underappreciated when it comes to variety.

Oh, I won't make fun of the Exterminator, one of my early favourites. TRO:2750 was my first TRO... And I believe it could work in MWO.

But please be realistic. The Annihilator with a 240 max engine (i.e. regular 1.2x engine cap instead of the god-like engine cap quirk it got) and Nightstar-level quirks would be really, really bad.

I would not mind seeing a Charger since that is the only remaining IS Assault Mech from the 3025 era and it could be used for the Battletech game.

These are my two choices.

Exterminator is one of my favorites. It is just one of those mechs that seems to have alot going for it and would actually be very competitive. Also the current stealth armor in game is actually the re-discovery of the stealth armor systems the mech was originally equipped with so there is no technology conflicts with it either.

The Flashman on the other hand is honest the perfect mech design. It has the crazy hit boxes of an Urbie (can't tell where the CT ends and the STs begin) plus relatively high mounted weapons. It is also at the sweet spot of 75 tons which is about the most efficient mech weight in the game when you are talking about engine size efficiency, speed and available free tonnage for weapons and equipment.
