I am getting periodic crashes after the map/mode selection screen. Figured it might be time to run the repair tool, however, I can not get it to run. I get a "cannot determine target from command line" error when I click the executable.
Has anyone run into this problem before? Would search but you know how that works on these forums.....

There could be an issue with MWO Portal (mine started the Repair Tool okay) but if you drill down to the MWO folder to the MWO Portal folder, you can manually run the MWORepairTool.exe. Hadnt realized PGI had moved the Repair Tool from the MWO to the MWO Portal setup til now.

i know that every time the portal updates it breaks all the shortcuts for some reason. sounds like what it is.

The game runs so much better for me through Steam, you really should try it.

Hi, SFC174. There are Command-Line Parameters that the MWO Repair Tool needs, and probably can not function without... The MWO Portal automatically provides these when triggering the Repair Tool from the Portal. Please try to use the Portal to activate the Repair Tool in order to avoid problems?
By the way, when you launch the MWO Repair Tool, please go into the Options before doing anything else. In order to do a 'Non-Destructive Check & Repair', please uncheck all but the last two checkboxes, but leave just those last two checkboxes turned on. Next, click "OK" and then make sure the "Clear Output Between Steps" checkbox in the main dialog is also unchecked. Then go ahead and tell it to 'Start Scan' of your MWO Install's files. When it's done with that, if anything is amiss, you'll be able to quickly repair just what's messed up, without blowing anything else to hell.

Uninstall MWO Portal then reinstall it. DV Devnull is correct, that tool now requires command-line parameters to be used. But since MWO is running except for periodic issues, if MWO Portal says install MWO, make sure when you hit that, that you point it to your current MWO directory, which will look similar the the following...
