We've seen the polls for Stock Mech Modes but what I'm proposing is a Stock Mech Loadout Option for Private Matches where players while selecting their mech to ready up have the option to select "Current load out" or "Stock load out". Players would not be required to purchase or downgrade any equipment and wouldn't be charged C-bills to go back to a stock load out and the option would only last for that match and would not have any effect on your mech's current load out. Essentially when selecting the "Stock load out" option, a stock mech would be instanced for that match only.

My reasoning is: 1) players get no rewards when playing Private Matches; 2) the stock mech games that are organized are a lot of fun and offer a welcome respite from the meta builds; 3) every mech you buy comes stock until you upgrade it; 4) you would still need to own the mech to run it stock (unless you're running a trial mech); 5) buying new mechs just to keep them stock gets expensive and clutters your mechbays (yes, I realize this may be intentional to be a cbill sink and a revenue generator from mech bay purchases).

While yes that would be good.

It should be both though, for public and private.

The game needs an official mode where people can earn c-bills, xp, and rank up their "elo" in the Classic Battle Tech environment of Stock vs. Stock only. I have a feeling that the game will be much better for doing so. It would give incentive to keep or buy Mech variants that aren't considered that "great" in the customization mode. Plus Stock Mode has been an option in MW games for over 12 years from the older games.

I despise the solaris mode with non-canon builds so much that I have essentially reduced my playtime of it by 90%.
