Well my Health Insurance just went "bye bye". The insurance program I had, can no longer support of fund my Health Insurance. So I'm looking around, and find one, that I can't afford. Yeah, minimal care for about twice what I make in a month. "But it's affordable" I'm told. Sorry, but I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth that I could have pawned so I could get health care coverage.
Wish me luck as I hunt for providers.

United states health insurance premiums have increased by approximately 20% every year over the past 20-40 years. Bad enough metrics on their own, factoring in the compounding interest makes things especially brutal.
Universal healthcare in europe and elsewhere isn't necessarily better off. Their single payer healthcare systems could implode before america's does. Its not widely or well publicized but it is a fact that universal healthcare is failing spectacularly in many areas.
Easiest method to fix healthcare in the US is to extend health insurance coverage to healthcare providers in mexico and other countries. Force US providers to streamline their operations and offer lower prices. Americans who live near to mexico's border likely already travel to mexico for their healthcare needs. In the future, mexico could be like a mecca for american healthcare similar to how Vegas is a mecca for gambling.
Force universities to reduce their standards for graduating doctors. The way things are now the doctor to patient ratio is something like 1 doctor to every 1,000+ patients, which is ridiculous due to standards being too high. Other countries have far more sane statistics nearer to 1 doctor for every 500 or lower patients.

If you lower the standards for doctors too much you are better off just buying healthier food and rolling with it. A lot of doctors these days are little more than overglorified Pharmacists.

Yes, indeed. That is due to many doctors receiving kickback money from big pharma for overprescribing medication.
CNN covered a portion of this:

And of course, there are doctors who are being sent to prison over it:
