something is strange about it, the more you shoot it's center torso, the more it spreads damage, i know it would be logical to take a look at it so i have no hopes for it to happen, but i wonder if i'm the only one unloading alpha strikes in it's torso when it's hugging me and doing absolute crap damage

It's the shape of the mech. Humanoid Lights that go over 120 kph are masters at spreading damage. Javelin, Spider, Commando, and that honorary light--Assassin.

In addition to what Bandito said:

If it is face hugging you, I have seen instances where weapons don't/can't converge when it is that close, so weapons that are spaced wide on your mech hit side torsos instead. There has also been complaints about hit reg on mechs up close too, but I don't know how accurate that is. I have experienced things that make me wonder if it is true, but have no hard evidence.
