I'm quite frankly amazed that MWO stock loadouts continue to be consistently so terrible. The excuse that they're based on Lore/TableTop builds is absurd considering that MWO gameplay has departed so thoroughly from that source material. It would be better in most cases for them to sell the 'Mechs as bare bones chassis-only, because even my 10 year old who knows virtually nothing of MWO could probably put a better build together in most cases.

And they expect something worth watching by asking players to use stock builds in the WC... lol

Or they could go chassis by chassis and keep a constant up to date champion build on them all. It would be a extreme amount of work but I'm sure the community can do a lot of the heavy lifting for them and they can just implement a few at a time over the next couple years until all the mechs are relatively viable at purchase.

WC with stock mechs is like League of Legends saying you can only play support characters and only build with +HP items.

You know i almost wonder if this is by design.. If T1 was nothing but top players and top builds and great people, when exactly could you screw around and not totally tank your team? the way things are now if your a good player you can just play well in a mech and have fun and a decent chance to win often enough.

I am more and more getting to the mindset that higher level play really needs to go into the FW/group areas.. QP is just the wildwest, run what you brung and try to have fun. Posted Image

I doubt it is by design..... But, what you have said is spot-on ! I'm of the opinion that if you hit T1, it's time to exclude you from QP.... Yes, there are a lot of T1 potatoes...

But, it would be a lot better place without them in QP.... Let them massacre themselves in S7 and FP all by themselves.... Of course, let's be honest, they have invaded QP because they really don't want competition; they want to massacre and farm noobs. It''s what they do as individuals and as teams.... And, a pretty good reason no one is left....

1. If Asym does not play, his opions do not count.
2. Next you would ban tier two, as they would be the new “seal clubbers”
3. If you cannot improve to the level that you can get into tier two, then you need to stop drinking and go home dad, you are drunk.

I am all for all skill levels being able to quickplay. I would appreciate a better PSR and MM, as I know I am not good enough for tier two after six months away, and I know folks that have been tier one for years that can have a bad string of months.

the only reason you'd buy a mech is so you can strip it asap and build-upgrade it to be better. No one uses only trial mechs for long. After finally buying a mech you can gut it. Trial trash just isn't a fun rhyming insult, it's a very good descriptor of the difference between a player built mech with 91 skills and stock.

Bought over 25 mechs for this series of events and all of them I am too cheap to upgrade them much, so I use stripped engines and single heat sinks on all of them, suboptimal but gets the job done. Engines and double heat sinks really cost alot!

I run Stock Builds when I'm just wanting to do something different in the game. Mostly I run them when I purchase the mech at first to see how it runs then after a few games I mod it to my liking

Never once cared about this hysterical stock madness.

Stock this stock that.

What the hell.

I put strong, good weapons in that mech.

Screw that stupid stock mode.

My tradition with new mechs is to:

1. Spend all my c-bills putting on some random meta-esque build i found on the forums/mechspecs/youtube
2. Get rofl-stomped in my first game
3. Go back to playing a bushwacker and entirely forget the new mech.
