Having watched the forums for years, I feel like there has been a lot of cumulative effort put into making threads about balance. From longwinded essays, to rage rants, to polls, to group balance proposals, etc.

But what if, instead of wasting what must be hundreds if not thousands of man hours writing balance posts that just go out in to the void, all of that effort was put in to establishing a community mechanic for actually getting PGI to reference player feedback on official forums over their spreadsheet data that tells them a Huggin nerf is needed, or that a Mad Cat MKII wasnt overperforming, etc.

Because otherwise, save for a few very rare instances, the big stuff is kept in house, and is destined to just be mocked or complained about on the forums. What good is your next "LRM's are bad" if the audience is just the playerbase and no one that can actually fix it? Im sure I could write an expose about time to kill, ghost heat, boat solutions, transient performance of lights, or even a good old fashioned IK or knock downs thread. But right now a thread about threads feels about as important as a thread providing feedback when all that feedback goes nowhere. So shouldnt the main focus for everyone be about getting ANY feedback heard, instead of making spreadsheets about balance or raging on LRMs?

pgi likes twitter because its impossible to discuss any ideas beyond minimally viable within the character limit.

If PGI was interested in such feedback, we would not have to Twitter bomb Russ for stuff.

We, as a community, can do whatever the hell we please, it doesn't matter if it falls on deaf ears.

Luminis has it right..... Most successful corporations that have "forums" use the forums to data-mine what the customers think of their products and services......

It is apparent that PGI believes that what they think is all that is necessary. I've worked for a Canadian corporation at one time and their largest fault, in a totally different product, was that the customers had NO SAY in any product decision(s).

So, we may be seeing a "cultural" by-product here. The other Corporation bought an American corporation and that corporation finally convinced the host to change their mind set and the host corporation has never been the same and their customers have kept them in business for far longer than they would have been !

PGI isn't communicating because they don't have the staff, the capital or the ability to fix what we want is probably a more accurate assessment of what is really going on.

I wonder how long players will start demanding "safe spaces" to play in. Posted Image
