1. Correlate your average match score with survival. Higher survival rate = better score. This is a simple concept. Basically, the longer you live, the more damage you deal. Use this to think about what you may or may not be doing. Do you have the most kick butt mech, think you can outshoot the best of them, can analyze battlefield situation on a dime, but somehow jarl's list position doesn't reflect your true skill level? That might be why.
I analyze a lot of players (myself included) and found that as a unit, our reputation as stormtroopers has more or less affected our plays. As generally, we have low survival rate. If you increase that rate, and not charge at the first open opportunity, you can dramatically improve your scoring.
game, and get better.
Practicing survival is a great way to start changing your mindset to do better in game. Remember there is middle-ground and two extremes to stay away from:
- berserkers/suicide squirrels that die too early
- turtles/chickens that hang back and do not share armor
Both can do lots of damage, the hangback turtles can even win the game; not that their dead teamates appreciate it.
Personally I tend to play too aggressive and die more often than leading my team on the game-winning charge.

If it wasn’t for the Jarl’a list, I probably would have quit the game months ago. But the ability to track my improvement, or lack thereof, keeps me coming back to see just how good I can get.
