First, I want to thank PGI for the attempted updates in the latest PTS regarding Faction Warfare. I greatly look forward to the next PTS when the Error 63 is resolved.

I was thinking there should be a place within the unit to store/donate unused weapons, equipment, and perhaps even mechs, in the same manner that C-Bills can be donated to the unit coffers. This would allow experienced unit members to transfer unused items to newer players. I know one thing I tend to have an overabundance of are small lasers, medium lasers, a variety of SRMs, and Targeting Computers. If someone in my unit needs some of those items, it would be awesome if I could help my fellow unit member out! This would provide another benefit of being part of a unit. With this in mind, there should be two main tabs in the Unit Storage: (a) Warehouse and (b) Hangar.

In the Warhouse, there should be different tabs for various types of equipment: (a) Ballistic, (b) Energy, (c) Missile, (d) Ammunition, (e) Engines, (f) Sensors, and (g) Misc. The ballistic, energy, and missile tabs would store weapons of the specified type. The ammunition and engines tab speak for themselves. The Sensors tab would hold ECM, BAP, and Targeting Computers while the Misc tab would hold everything else.

The Hangar would contain 4 tabs, one for each mech weight class. It should have the same filter options as the mechlab with the option to "transport" the mech to an empty mechbay in your lab or from an occupied mechbay to the Unit Hangar.

You might be wondering how much storage space would be available. Perhaps the number of items and mechs that can be stored could be determined by a Unit Leveling System or by the Unit Leadership purchasing the storage and mechbays with unit cbills/MC.

What is everyone's thoughts on this?

IIRC Paul already said that a "Unit inventory" is a can of worms he's not willing to open.
