Simple as that. Otherwise we won't be getting the Heavy Gauss for another 12 years. So, yeah, please vote and post your complete opinions.

Important: Changed the options on the poll. Changed the no option. So please re-submit your new votes :D

Importanter: I don't mean skipping the important stuff, BTW, just jumping through the un-important to get closer to technological advancements.

There will definitely be time jumps, I think the 1:1 timeline is only a starting point. It would be hard to simulate a universe in which thousands upon thousands of massive-scale battles take place in it every day.

Yeah, but it is good to hear all sides.

For the game to progress it'll be required. If it wants to get stale and eventually fade it can remain 1:1 and never jump ahead.

They need to catch up a bit first with 3049 content then I will be for the time jump.

Well, two people (as of now) disagree, hoping to hear from them.

Yep, but hopefully soon.

Eventually I think it has to be done, but for the first year or two it should remain 1:1.

I'm not sure if it should go for that long. Since territory control is going to be a major part of the metagame, it precludes that enough time is passing outside of the battles for the industry on the planet to actually be used. I'd imagine they'll accelerate the universe on a game-development timetable, so we're always getting new weapons and meta-game elements.

I hope we get to remain in each Era long enough to fully absorb and grok the content. I don't want to skip ahead every 2 months.

Play out the "interesting" parts in 1:1 timescale and skip the rest.

I hope that the jumps aren't large, like maybe each month is a year MW time. this way there would be fluid progression, with no sudden lurches. sorta ish.

I also like the idea of having 1:1 for major events though too. so I will leave it in the ever saintly hands of the devs.

The game is not even released, the clans are inbound for some time next year and people already ask for timejumps? ;)

Talk about lack of patience. :D

I can't imagine they keep that up forever. I guess though it depends on how Community Warfare turns out.

I still don't get the fascination about "timejumps". They picked this point in time for a very specific reason.

I mean you people do understand that there can be more than 1 MW game in existence right? If this pans out they don't need to tinker with it so that kids can have Uziels when someone could just build another game...even beyond the Jihad not much happens at that end of the timeline that anyone is willing to talk about though... :D

Realistically, the next couple years will have some cool stuff happening with the Clan invasions, but eventually time jumps will be needed.

I don't see the stale argument at all. What does the time frame have to do with stale. Say we fast forward and the Heavy Gauss comes out. Your telling me that magically makes the game exciting. Even if it is the best weapon ever invented after a few weeks it will be same old same old. If we are having to have new weapons to keep the game exciting then the game has already failed. It should be a fun game regardless of what weapons exist. Weapons should be the icing on the cake. Another thing to consider..what do you do when we have fast forwarded and find ourselves in the Dark Ages with WOB after say just 5 real life years. Almost no one wants to go there what are you going to do? They going to reboot and throw everything out the door that has been done in the last five real years that would suck. The fun of the game does not come from technoligal tricks but how we interact and fight in the universe that is created.

We won't need time jumps for at least a few years, but it might be a thought to consider once they get through the glut of pre-3049 content that needs to be made.

there are too many models for them to update constantly with time jumps. right now they only have 15 mechs revealed with 50 or so possible variants from the 3025/3050 Technical readouts. there are over a hundred models with over 500 variants that are usable in the time frame of 3050. Every time jump would require massive amounts of work to update new models and mechanics. Therefore its just impractical for it to jump times. even just putting the base 16 clan omnimechs in will take several months.
