Well dunno about the smaller part, I dont mind tiny mechs hell give me some toads or protomechs to shoot at but hitreg definatley has some trash moments but its still loads better than it used to be - iv still got a dent in my metal desk here from it, nothing says blind rage like putting 2-4 AC20 shots into a spider, having it 'register' animation wise but do zero damage.
