PGI failed to deliver on two key possibilities for CW:
  • a sandbox "EvE" style player-driven campaign
  • a lore-based military RPG and simulator
In retrospect I can understand why -- deciding to implement MPBT (as opposed to the flimsy stuff we have now) would have been a big commitment for them. It just makes me sad, even after all these years later that they did not see the potential game waiting to be created.

Didn't some people posting in this very thread just poo-poo on player driven lore event?

Yes, some did.

So, why crap on that idea and then just one day later ask for some flavor/lore in CW?

Just pointing out the blatant hypocrisy.

He's talking about Galahad II. Have you seen any other player-driven events in this forum recently?

I would like to thank ARC7 for participating on Operation Galahad II so far though, as unwilling as they might have been to do so. I know I've encountered a few of their groups, and they have helped increase my stats greatly :) Thank you ARC7!

isn't that every carrot they add, more potatoes also get added, which creates it's own salt ??

I think there just needs to be more meat added, and go less vegan

been away from the game for the past 3 months, and back then I was getting burnt out with the only way to play was quick play, with most of my time watching the twirling ring , although for me it was due to the less populated time to play.
guess not much has changed for FP

Player driven events or events in general are not what I was getting at. What do we get out of FP. Better cbills? L.P.? MECHS bays? That's about it.. there really isn't anything we are working twords.. take a capital? Meh no real rewards/ no real effect to the over all map. It what ever.

I agree. Sitting on top of a treasure trove of background and depth in the BT universe, PGI thought too small, when it could've done so much more with the material at hand.

The "map" ceased to be relevant the day Loyalists ceased to be relevant. Replace it with a simple Leaderboard of Units each cycle and give the Top 4 the MC. (The map is just "lipstick" on the pig we call Faction Play.)

we have gone through a whole season of solaris with nay an fp event. we need another mega-battle is what we need. use that damn event system that was a big feature of civil war and is too seldom used imho. hell i want to see a monthly fp event minumum.

i dont recall ever receving any mc for FP. Maybe during an even but aside from that nope, might have gotten some and thought it was from an even but nothing is comming to mind. So its not a big factor for me. We take a planet one night and its gone the next say so its again, no real progress. Dont get me wrong though MC is good but its still not what i think FP really needs. I love green chile but i dont put it on everything. Id like to see both sides work twords something, turk is meh, taking a capital, meh working twords what? Idk... exclusive mech? Paint job? Color? Again idk.. we just need SOMETHING.
