With the way they are modelling mechs recently I'd rather they not bring any classics into the game, Imagine what a pig's ear they'd make of the Crusader right now.

No thanks.

I am not worried about that, since they made Phawk's ears presentable.

I enjoy my Thantos and don't regret buying them. Yes their hit boxs are nothing to write home about, but if you skill them in the survival tree and twist like a mad man. They can do so good work in them. Not every mech needs to be Xl safe to be a good addition to the game.

Every Mech can work, and I like piloting the Thanatos myself.
That does not mean it is a good Mech.
What was a fan favourite once is barely seen in the game at all, that is how much people dislike actually playing it. XL-viability is not even the biggest issue, although it is obviously one of many problems. Bad geometry is bad for many reasons.

There would have been far better options for a 75t IS Mech - options which might be enjoyed by the majority of players in MWO. The same is true for the Uziel and the Hellspawn; and the Osiris, while not bad per se, is utterly redundant and not exactly common sight either.

We could have had a better Mech selection if the people who wanted Uziel and co had actually spend a minute thinking about their predictable performance issues instead of blindly voting for them just because they knew them from another (18 year old, cheesy) video game.

The performance lies solely in the game designer since they are the ones that balance it, not the players that want it.

Sure, the Uziel has a giant torso. But it culd have better armor/structure quirks to compensate and good hitbox distribution just as easily.

If you look only at Geometry and max engine, the Anhilator would be the worst mech in the game. It is extremely slow with a 300 engine cap, super excessively tall, and all its gun mounts are quite low.

However it murders due to high armor quirks and positive even with weapons, and is widely considered one of the best IS assaults if not the best period.

Um, yeah, godlike quirks can save every Mech. Old news. Realistically, the likelihood of that actually happening everytime when the community unwisely points to a bad unit is rather low.

Also keep in mind people were in active denial about the performance issues of many Mechs. I had discussions in which I was told about the Uziel or Hellspawn being totally fine even without godlike quirks. The quirk argument was usually the last straw, if it came up. And it is one to tell you how bad a Mech really is.

You realize there are numerous variants, right?

The "Challenger" would be an interesting addition as a Hero or Champion variant.

I'm hoping for some Ost goodness this year. Would have to get both the Ostroc and Ostsol if released separately or as a pack of some sort.

Odd, even though I select "quote", its not working.
