First thing i need to say, i am sorry for every new player that trying to tier up after patch where torso destroying dmg did not count arm remaining hp, it leaves you in 248 score DEFEAT situations more times than can you imagine (251 score makes game result "=" so you don't lose tier points). It's very crucial thing, 14 component destroyed pre patch gib you godly 2k dmg, now its 1300, every one who made 1k+ after patch its top player non less (no LRMS). You lost huge amount of dmg cuz that but still need 251 point (not 226 or any random "lower than before patch number" for example?). DamaGe (B33F pronounce) was cut off but tier up requirements remains same (logic).
Second thing - use cheesy builds, rly, you need to compensate those "play 40 unskilled mechs and deal 500 dmg with them" events with some broken things like Deathstrike/DakkaLBXWhale or you stats get some damaGe.
Current cheesy builds that require no skill its any clan laser vomit, you just press 1 button and made a huge hole in enemy mech, thats it (torso twisting its lost tech and not useful if you are Dakka or LRM boat/Clan ERlasors (laser duration lmao) on enemy side), Hunchback II, Hellbringer ECM vomit, MC-II laservomit, Linebaker etc. You just press 1 button x3 times and get 300 dmg and 1 kill secured (thats why PGI trying to nerf clan lasors with second attempt - first attempt was outcryed and abandoned).
Key things u need to know if your goal is Tier up - don't expect ur ally IQ is more than 40, they didn't look at map, don't react on your chat messages like "whole enemy team pushed right side pls support with fire", expect worst possible play from them and count only for yourself, teamplay its bonus you get randomly in t3-5.
Learn your maps, rly, you need to know every map key points ranges and weak spots you need to cover, like "from this spot to this 700 m so i can camp here with my triple ERLL and get always optimal range". If you 400m range (freaking pulse lasors) you should find new point to peek-n-hide. Overall maps is around taking high ground and pwn enemies who "nascar to empty space" around hill you sit on. HPG manifold, Mining Collective, Canyon, Caustic, Grim Plexus (last obvious one) - they all about taking top ground and shoot dumbsters that run in circles around your High Ground in hope to kill slow mech.
Your every build should use near max slots and tonnage, seen too many 1 Large Pulse laser/ 2xlrm 5 20-30 tonns scouts, try to made build with no less than 25-30 alpha damage (very fast cooldown), or 45-60-80 moderate CD. Important thing - if you use like 6 medium lasers in your mech, Heat Gen skill tree nodes much more effective than Cool Run ones, use max coolrun tree only if u use weapons with long cooldown(3,5-4 sec). Load SRM/MRM ammo not less than for 30 shots total/ 50 for lrms.
Armor, for legs 60 armor is enough, use that tonnage wisely, 4/6/8 back armor for lights, meds/heavy, assaults made you "mistake proof" and much more alive. Do not afraid to strip dead hand (no equipment in it), its common practice. Use torso twist to protect ur valuable torso, hand armor+structure gib you some durability, don't refuse to use that, my 2x Battlemasters made me pro on that.
Also if you "very" new, start from long range weapons, Lurms or IS ERLL fit perfect, make sure you set your mouse sensitivity pretty low (i use 0,15), don't underestimate power of advanced zoom, it rly helps to aim desired parts easily. PPC/Gauss is not recommended for new players, too hard to calculate future enemy mech position to shoot. Play medium/heavy mechs at first, they have speed to runaway, light and assaults its too impactful for you team (you get one shotted as light or bring your 100 tonner to choke point and dies in 2-3 seconds with no dmg).Try to choose IS mechs with armor quirks, Roughneck, Bushwacker, Vindicator etc, its easy mode when u have heavy mech with assault 115 torso rear armour, very forgiving.
Made some goals for yourself like try every match to get 250 points non less, defeat or win doesn't matter, fight to the end, always react to ally called for help (if he is not Anni who randomly walk away from whole team solo, get warned in chat and ignore your "you have deathwish? why u du dis"), ALWAYS look at map and not afraid to scratch ur paint wisely.
Skill tree points order - sensor tree first ALWAYS, or you get stupidly "lurmerino"ed, 100% radar derp for lights and meds, 80 for heavy, not less than 60 for assaults, second thing is firepower tree (20 points at least to sustain dps with heat gen nodes) then survivabilty or mobility if you are light mech. Aim for 85-90 kmh as brawl medium, 60-75 as long range support medium and 120+ as light, heavy and assaults 60-75. If you go for very slow assault mech your MWO expirience get riched with some fail matches where u get rekt by fast/long range mechs, current meta hate slow mechs, 100 tonners is dumb choise, use 85-90 ones.
Use VOIP/chat only for useful info, do not spam them with trash like blaming your team, if you are new its your mistake lead you to death not your team fault.
And here is my road to T1 begins, hope i help some players to understand this game more, gl and have fun, see you in battlefield!

You had some wine, beer or whatever. That' s okay. However, only post until sober. Some wisdom: when you get to tier 1, don' t drink at all.

Hit the enter key twice, not once. Even your screen shot shows it was only hit once, making it look like a long running paragraph, thus missing the emphasis, the intent of each paragraph, things being lost in the "blizzard". :)

For me, the easiest way to get tier progress is to just run this (with max offensive tree and double cool shots):
https://mwo.smurfy-n...bd6035e3432f1be

Pretty much an automatic 500-100 damage every time, if you keep with the team and support fire everything.

Though I don't really care to play LRM spam too often, so I play other mechs most of the time. No issue with getting decent damage scores with those either, but it's not as trivial, Posted Image.
