Lulz aside, I could see some of the tanks being quite viable in MWO. The AC and PPC carriers, especially- they carry about the same amount of weaponry as a 'Mech of the same tonnage, but run much cooler. A Partisan or Schrek firing from a hull-down position could be a seriously dangerous piece of hardware, if properly up-armored.

Putting AI tanks back into the game as a consumable is a good idea: a platoon of AI tanks you can place and they fight in that limited area......to defend a domination circle. A cap point. A base point. etc,...

There are plenty of cases where vehicles can actually have more weapons than equivalent mechs. They don't need to have heatsinks for non-energy weapons in TT so they can stack a buttload of missiles/ballistics.Try putting 10 SRM6s on a 60 ton mech and see how that works out.
They are also not that much smaller than mechs. That's a misconception driven by video game developers scaling mechs up to make them cooler.

That's not true. Vehicles can have just as much weaponry as a battlemech, and small size is a boon, not a negative.
The issue with vehicles in battletech is...
-They have fewer armor component locations, which means they can't spread damage as well
-Pretty much any armor rupture is death, since it doesn't have side torsos, legs or arms
-There are several 'auto-death' mechanics that apply to vehicles but not mechs
