60 damage at range.
75+ alpha.

Paywall is secured.

Majority of under performers nerfed while paywall mechs are buffed.

Yeah I mean thats gonna be fine. The recoil is super dumb and is going to be annoying but isn't really going to all of a sudden make IS Gauss viable vs Clan Gauss. If they think it is they are smoking something. They should leave it and differentiate the two in another way. The recoil mechanic is just an un-fun mechanic.

The 6 ERLL SNV-1 is also going to be nice.

Actually just going to do it in a -A without the ML since their damage is going to get slapped hard. Not worth the heat. Saw a number of people call anyone opposed to the nerfs last patch as “wanting to play one button warrior online.” Well, here ya go. NOW I’ll be playing one button warrior during the PTS, and subsequent patch (because you know they fully intend on doing this no matter what input is given). Just max out beam duration and Gauss charge. Triple ERLL on a number of other mechs.

Poor Viper, Ice Ferret, and Black Lanner. You had it tough because of your huge engines and/or locked components. Now you don’t even have enough room to enjoy the short lived 3 ERLL meta that will get reversed the very next patch. Plus, all the weapons that you have tonnage to carry get gimped.

Not gonna bother with test. But provided I wont just quit, this gonna be the backup option for DS - https://mwo.smurfy-n...144f051761afcb6

nah, its pretty serviceable. I run this on Nanuq with same -20% jamchance and one PPC obviously, and jams are not that bad.

Range advantage with 3 ERLLs seems overstated for an assault, considering most shooting happen within 500 meters anyway.

Lies. Is teh clam tech it teh best it no jammy

I’m pretty decided on not doing this round pts as it’s kinda baffling and will likely feel similar to how clan firepower is now only even less enjoyable to play. All the while, this will push the viable engagement zone back and make clan mechs in general worse off at mid to short range

But if I was going to run my DS I would at least try to get away with 6 erlls and 2 lb2s

Hm, user luck I suppose. Whenever I use any build with 2 UAC/10s, Clan or IS, I seem to almost never have both functioning after the first shot. I used to try and run a Nightstar 9FC with a pair and with 5x ERML, the expectation being that I could double-tap it to a 65 "alpha", but that never worked because one gun always fouled up on the double.

Thinking the SNV-Boiler will be pretty interesting too. 3xERLL in the high mounts. 2xGauss in the arms. Maybe 3xSRM6 in the other torso for deterring rushers (or 3 streak4s if lights scare you and you can't aim). 60 pt long range alpha for 50% heat - should be able to alpha long range at least 3 times in a row without delay. 66 pts up close with minimal heat. 96 pt total alpha @300m for about 66% heat with skills.….. Not my favorite mech for several reasons, and I won't enjoy playing it nearly as much as some of my others, but, gotta do it (if PGI goes through with it).

Lol you won't be able to fit that with anything close to adequate in terms of DHS, and the Deathstrike will do 2 Gauss 3 ERLL better.

I don't get what the point of recoil mechanic from gameplay perspective? I mean it looks cool, kinda immersive, but me running dual HG Nightstar, having brutal recoil doesn't hinder ability to aim and land shots in any particular way. How is it a "nerf"?...

Maybe. I simulated it with 2 ERLL and 1 HML in the testing grounds to avoid ghost heat (and 17 DHS) and it worked pretty well. Yeah its missing 2.8 heat vs. the proposed PTS numbers, but I think it could work. I really like the laser mounts on the Boiler (high, pretty much a single beam in terms of convergence), but the gauss location definitely leaves something to be desired vs. the Deathstrike.
