From my last thread calling for the renew interest in MW4 Hellhound or 55 ton version of Fudup's "Warhound," I discussed how the champion giveaway is a contest of drafting needs vs drafting value.

Do you use your no. 1 pick for a highly sought quarterback when you already have a good quarterback because the draft pick might be a good trade asset down the road? Or do you spend your no. 1 draft pick on a lineman that you need right now?

Luckily, because of the sales announcement, the answer is obvious.

So the only mech I was missing and could possibly "need" was a 45 ton brawl dancer, which would have been the PHX-2. I was actually on fence to pick up. Draft for needs, as you say.

But now, free agency just opened up, and wow, 50% off... yea, a discounted lineman just came onto the market, so that makes it a no brainer. Pickup the lineman at discounted rate and draft a freaking superstar so that I can either trade him at super high value, or just keep him around as a backup.

Damn, so that was easy. Pick the Stormcrow (highest Cbill value) and buy the 50% off PHX-2.

All in all, I just swung about 15 mil Cbill in my favor. So, timing of this sale couldn't have been better. Thanks PGI!

Well, it just seems disrespectful to me that after people already chose a champion mech, now those mechas are going for 50% off and they could have chosen another one...

Yup the thing with PGI is they do this alll the time. It's a sales trick - there's always some sort of deal going on and it's deliberately difficult usually, to know the right time to jump in. I ended up getting the Hunchie II as I didn't already have it instead of reselling the Crow, and I will just buy the Hawk with c-bills while it's on sale.

. Disrespectful? It’s the only mech that went on sale out of the whole heap. Should they have excluded it from the med champs because it was unseen and would later be on sale? That’s ridiculous. If they did folks would complain not every med champ was available, and if they had kicked Phoenix hawks out of the alpha lance sale, folks would complain as well. This was the only way to handle it. I swear some of you just want to complain about everything. We have a thread for that, it’s called the Daily whine, and it’s largely respected as a venting ground.

How we get argument from a "thank you" PGI thread?

the timing of the PHX announcement is just fortunate for me. That could have been anything else. There is no critique necessary for timing or anything like that. I lucked out and got about 15 mil more in CBILL value because I waited on picking up on my champion. That's all.

Chill folks.

So when Steam has a Sale, a month after a Game drops, that is also so "disrespectful" that you would never partake in any Sale of that kind then right? If you would buy in on those Sales, then please do not be so hypocritical... :(
