Someone needs to play the things that Aren't being changed, in order to provide a baseline on how the new weapons stack up. If all you had was the nerfed lasers shooting at other mechs using the same nerfed lasers, you aren't going to learn a whole lot. That's part of the reason i probably have spent 2/3 of my time on the PTS using things NOT being changed, and recording how well they stacked up in comparison to before. For the record, clan brawlers like the orion, or the Linebacker got REALLY good on the PTS, simply by being things that don't fold over in one or two big laser alphas anymore.

That being said, I probably agree that 10 rounds with a singular mech does seem like a little overboard. Best to vary what is being played, including both some of the changed stuff, and some of the un-changed stuff, and even a few intriguing builds that the new changes create (I'm loving the 3xerLL, 2xGauss Mk2, for example.)
