As someone who plays Assaults 95% of my time and mostly lasers, I can say this nerfing is most unwelcome. I shut down more often than I have before and this makes is easier for the enemy to kill my mech while in shutdown mode. As been said, more heat is a deal killer and not the way to go.

I've been running clan and IS mechs.. it's nice that I can fire 3 erll now.. still won't do **** against a 12 man of IS assaults closeing for the brawl.. when I run my anhi or Sliphner I fear no clan laser.. that's a problem...

All my IS mechs were just rolling clan mechs. The only ones that had a chance were the mechs using Clan UAC's, and most of the time the more accurate fire from the faster cycling IS weapons won.

RIP clan mechs, except for lrms (thx chris). Ill stick to my IS account till they drop or fix this laser mess.

What are the clan loyalist units supposed to do?
Maybe their plan is for faction play to fade even more into nothingness.
Don't have to fix faction play, if no one play faction play... right?
