IDK which place to run bc I did not find any topic, concerning MWO portal, but for quite few months it has been annoying message each time i start it.

"Caught an exception trying to do version check: Unable to locate registry key"

Nevertheless, after I click "OK", portal loads and game updates and is working ok.

Is there a way to fix this?

Is this Steam or standalone? And Integrity Check or Run MWO Repair Tool? Did you move the game and/or portal to its current location without reinstalling the portal or running the MWO Repair Tool?

Just for clarification, what steps do you take when that error pops up? When clicking on the MWO Portal shortcut to launch it?

Hi,

I have a standalone installation, Game was never moved from its installed directory for more than 5 years :)

MWO repair tool - that's what came to my mind first, ran it - no result. (all checks are okay).

Yes, I click on MWO portal, this error pops up, i press OK, error closes and portal loads ok.
Then game runs no problem. As I said, not a very big problem, just little annoying at start.

Oh, I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. But IDK if this could be the cause, bc everything else is working okay.
