I have been playing the PTS all day and I think it is time to input my findings.
Generally the clan no longer hits hard enough for the heat they generate. I have been playing both clan and inner sphere mechs, and pretty much heavy or assault IS mech that pressed and closed with a clan mech come out victorious 4 out of 5 times. The IS lasers and UAC's run cooler, fire faster, and are more accurate. Even with the Clan now able to mount 3 ERlarge and Large Pulse, with the nerf to the Med laser line they cannot repel and IS mech. The IS ERmed lasers are superior.
With the Gauss shake the Clanner pilots have to fire their lasers first which telegraphs the incoming Gauss attack giving you to time torso twist to the side you want to take the hit on, so I think that is working out well as a balancing mechanism.
This reduction in effectiveness of the Clan mainstay weapons is too great, especially when having to go toe to toe with IS armor and Structure enhanced mechs. I strongly suggest that PGI reconsider this action.

right because my "superior" clan gauss should shame more than my mother's chihuahua and the IS dosnt... makes no ******* sence.
Man are you in every thread whining about the gauss shake? It's like the least effective or important change out of everything. Barely noticable yet here you are in another thread saying it makes no ******* sense.

Uh, from my testing the recoil was worse than dual heavy gauss, using dual clan gauss.
Best case is to not implement it since its not even changing GaussxLaser alpha gameplay. Second best is to either give Is gauss the same and dial the effects back to a MUCH more specific time fram for both.
