As hardcore Godzilla fans know, 2 major announcements came this week of the Monsterverse.

1. Netflix dropped their 2nd animated Godzilla movie, City on the Edge of Battle (Original Japanese title is better)
2. Godzilla King of Monsters trailer drop

so it's an exciting time.

Well, anyways, so I was bored and imaging how if I am a little human, how I would fight something like that. Then I draw my experience in virtually every other RPG games, and come up with an idea...

Limited time server wide event.

First boss... Mechagodzilla.

Partially influenced by Ready Player One, but One Player would basically be Mechagodzilla Zoid. And he gets like a few mechs to help protect his weak spots. It's a 5 vs 32 drops. 32 guys need to work together to try to kill Mechagodzilla (which, for copyright reason, will from this point be know as MegaDirewolf)

Obviously, MegaDirewolf hit super hard, breach super high damage plasma fire. But it's up to the players to work the corners and try to beat the world boss.

Defending the world boss will net extra Cbills, MCs, and decals

Defeating the world boss will net extra Cbills, MCs, and title "Dragon Slayer"

It's something just totally random and an escape from the boring OMG LRM LASER META CLAN OP NERF MG routine.

Mechagodzilla shows up in most of the matches I play. Annihilators are everywhere it seems. One wonders why PGI hasn't come up with the obvious rear torso bolt-on yet...

It could be actually done relatively ease (comparing to OP idea):
Random assault's model is replaced with mechagodzilla model every 1/n matches. Everyone can see it except the pilot himself.
It can be pure cosmetical, or:
also lunch an event, where you get some bonuses for killing/assisting to kill the monster; or get bonuses for killing/assisting while you are a monster. Optionally - give x2 armor to mechagodzilla, to compensate for mad focusing.
There. Might screw with balance, but who cares, it's short period event, and would be tons of fun.

Adding a bolton to the Anni aside, you know this idea is a lawsuit waiting to happen right?

I enjoyed both animated movies though, watch them! Got robbits too...

Besides the fact that this is a terrible idea for every reason imaginable - from legal concerns to lore to simple execution - it's also just plain stupid.

Even the most hardcore MWO supporter will admit there are significant problems in game that need resolving, and so your proposal is to spend valuable man-hours and money on... Godzilla?

This is not just a stupid idea. This is a recursively stupid idea.

Wouldn't work. Even swtor has trouble getting wb groups at peak hours with over 100 server population in a planet instance. Doing it with mwo's very limited already fragmented pop and ques would just be a waste of time and resources all around. Name any proplem this game has. A silly mode would just take pgi's micro mwo team's focus away from it. Look at the "balance of the game. How much do you thing that mega bot would be OP with never missing weapons? Did you ever play fw when long tom was in game? Imagine that fired at you every few seconds with no respawns.

new game mode, kill the superheavy!

ok its really just escort except it can shoot at you and it weighs a couple hundred tons. bring in some elements from incursion too. super heavy has to seige a heavily fortified compound, one side escorts the other defends.

I recommend taking lore instead:
  • Players are forced into either an IS company or a Clan binary based on the Mech they are using.
  • IS players get to face a Clan binary controlled by fantastic AI.
  • Clan players get to face an IS battalion controlled by fantastic AI.

There, immersion is achieved and MWO instantly becomes a much much better and lore-friendly game. <maniacal Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image>

None the less... I want to fight Mechagodzilla. For the copyright thing... let's say... PGI work with Toho/Paramount to promote their movies in exchange for model rights...

Probably it should be several different modes added: Godzilla vs. Mechzilla, Godzilla v. King Kong, Godzilla meets Abbot and Costello...

The new Godzilla anime is just bad. I watched it in the hopes that the storyline would improve over part one, but it turned out to be just more over dramatized BS. The visuals are well done, but I've seen local auto dealer commercials with better content.

Saying that something is "inspired by Ready Player One" is a bit like taking a really bad idea, eating it, ******** it back out, repackaging it in that awful plastic blister crap that slices your fingers open, and then dumping it into the "man-doll" isle of your nearest EB "Games". It's not just a **** idea; it's a really **** idea, and the only people who will buy it are the sort who like to eat **** and as a result, they probably smell and have brown teeth.
