Hi guys.
For context, the exterminator was a Headhunter mech which was one of the few designs to incorporate the Chameleon Light Polarization Shield, a star league era piece of tech that fuzzied the outline of the mech at the expense of generating a lot of heat.
Just a quick query, would this be something you would like to see in game? How do we all feel about the implementation of some of the more lost of the lostech, or even some experimental tech that was released around 3060.
Let me know your thoughts. Cheers.

I've argued for years that there needs to be more equipment in the game with benefits/abilities that make them competitive options over just taking yet more guns. So yeah, all for it.

The Chameleon Light Polarization Shield is probably to difficult to implement properly,. Considering the Null Signature System, the other important tech of the Exterminator, is basically a better steath armour system the Mech is not easy to balance.
If it was introduced I assume PGI would also introduce the hardcounter: the Bloodhound Active Probe. However I am not sure if the Clans have a comparable system, so that might be a problem, too.
I don't think this kind of technology would be a good idea, although I would like to have the Mech itself.
Experimental technology is a difficult topic. There are so many weapons and pieces of equipment that it would be a full blown update like the FCCW-update we got.
(We do have the LAMS, which is still experimental in the 60ies, but I guess that is because back then the sarna-article mixed up prototype and production dates...)
I doubt NSS and CLPS would be available as pieces of equipment to every Mech. Keep in mind you don't need ECM or anything to mount them.
The NSS means you get a better ECM+Stealth Armour for less: only 7 crit slots. Unless this system is restricted to the Exterminator and the Spector, everybody will use it.

Anything besides the mech pack-a-month or nerf-of-the-month would be an improvement. New maps, game modes, weapons, tech, omni mechs, quad mechs, transforming lams etc.

Whilst I agree with all of your points, I think making particular equipment exclusive to a particular chassis will go a long way to helping balance out its power. So yes, whilst CLPS and NSS will be strong systems, you can counterbalance that strength by implementing harsh quirks and mech stats that ensure the exterminator/spector does not invalidate any other mech.
I also believe that the null system can be balanced by the complete deactivation of the C3 targeting computer whilst in effect and for a few seconds after deactivation. The CLPS can be balanced by using the heat mechanic to limit time "invisible" and how many weapons you can fire during that time.

The problem is that both the Nul-sig system and the Chameleon Light Polarization Shield(which, hilariously, the Chameleon mech didn't have) are the ultimate in lost tech. The few example that do still exist are held in mothballs by the Clans, who see such things as dishonorable. The only other examples were used by Comstar to make the Purifier Adaptive battle armor's Mimetic armor and by WOB to make the Raptor II's Void Signature System.

When they take away null signature effect of current broken ECM then ya.
