My biggest balance issue isn't with Clan vs IS, but with grouped vs non-grouped players.

I suggest adding some kind of penalty per grouped player, that only affects the players in the group.

Example :
- 1% damage penalty per grouped player : Maximum of 12% damage penalty per grouped player for a full 12-player group.

Simple to implement, simple to update/remove, and very casual-player friendly.

No Poll required : Just use existing stats of "12 solo players VS 12 grouped players" matches to check if having no separate group queue creates a balance issue.

Do you mean for Faction Play?

The group tonnage limit I would think serves as enough of a penalty in quick play group queue..

sure let's nerf team play and make it EVEN WORSE!!! it's bad enough noob players don't use teamwork so you want to penalize teams for being a TEAM!??! do you have any idea what you are proposing?

Yes, going up against a group when dropping solo can be rough, but that should just encourage teamwork rather than have the group be penalized. Or join up with a unit and start playing in a group as well.

I say this as a solo player with no unit. Teamwork wins the game. I'd like it to stay that way so we don't just wind up with ANOTHER CoD (or other FPS) where one highly skilled player can carry a terrible team to a win.

There is zero difference between group talking on teamspeak vs team talking on integrated VoIP.
In past when you didn't have VoIP you had a leg to stand on.
The real difference is in whether somebody takes charge and team is led. If you don't follow a call. Whos it on?

The damage is already reduced for large groups. The larger the group, the more restrictive the tonnage limit. There is of course a skill factor involved, but generally it is more difficult to put up big damage numbers in lighter mechs.

Penalty for grouped players in mode specially created for group drops with some sort of coordination? Sounds like a bad joke...

Maybe your issue is not grouped players but people you are dropping with? Try finding a group to play with, CW will become way more fun for you, & thankfully there are units that still play CW on daily basis & can give you advices to improve your skills & performance.

Now that´s one of the worst propositions outside of those that PGI forced upon us, Humble Dexter.
It´s rather clear that you really haven´t thought this through .

Punishing players for playing a game the way it´s meant to be played is just downright ludicrous and shortsighted in the extreme .

Can someone please lend me a galaxy full of facepalms please, I just happened to run out of them at such a crucial moment .

I'm not asking for a specific FP group Drop Deck weight limit, I'm asking for a similar feature to the existing specific QP group Dock Deck limit, that could or could not have anything to do with implementing a specific group Dock Deck weight limit. As was obviously suggested right from the start by... this thread's title.

I was implying that the more players go out of their way to avoid queuing up with the wrong opponent, the longer that opponent's waiting queue is going to get.

How about to improve this suggestion and add 25% damage penalty for top 300 players? This is the big balance issue too, when someone who know how build a mech and make it work farming those who doesn't.
