Climate change is real.

Proof:

#1 Climate change is caused not by emissions but rather deforestation.

#2 Man has cut down approximately 50% of the forests covering the earth's surface.

#3 This is problematic. Trees function as "carbon sinks" which naturally absorb and sequester (store) carbon. A single tree can store thousands of pounds of CO2 during its lifespan.

That doesn't cover the drought aspect. Posted Image

Drought has a slightly different paradigm.

#1 Drought is also caused by deforestation as has been studied in regions like brazil where amazon rainforest destruction is correlated with decreased rainfall.

#2 Trees suck water out of the ground via their roots.

#3 Water travels upwards in the trunk and is evaporated through a trees leaves.

#4 This end of this process is known as transpiration and produces a considerable amount of native rainfall for island regions.

#5 Deforestation significantly handicaps this process, which produces reduced rainfall and drought.

...

Whenever someone proposes building a massive machine to suck CO2 out of the air or using concrete to absorb and trap CO2.

Machines already exist to do all of these things. They're called: trees.

and we can burn the trees as fuel and save some money by generating your own power, or just make absurd amounts of concrete.

the carbon sink isn't even the improtant part of trees,

trees stabelise the climate because they store water and also transfer water by vaporisation deepr into the land. And this is the big issues deforestation caused. less water is safely stored on forest and so local temperatures are less stabelised, also without the trees "bbreathign water" moisture doesn't travel as far into continents causing more draughts by less water reaching the wells of rivers.

CO2 is fien, there as a lot miore during and before dinosaur area (when all the oil was still growing on the surface) and it never caused issues, stuff was ctually much bigger. Don't forget CO2 is basically food for plants.

We definately need to save the trees or the water cycles go to hell. And thats going to end up bad, but hey mankind doesn't cares, because they are overall rather stupid.

Solar panels are considered a "zero emissions" form of energy. If hauling solar panels on an oil fueled containership from china to the united states can be considered "zero emissions". Then there is the carbon footprint generated to mine and ship silicon and metals necessary to manufacture solar panels.

I know there's concrete which is designed to absorb and store carbon. The issue with that is concrete is hauled miles inside trucks that burn fuel. Over the long term it is possible more carbon is generated producing solar panels and concrete than either would compensate for over their lifespans.

Anyways I know its uncool to think about or discuss things like this.

So back to complaining about PGI and exporting NaCL.

Uh, yeah. PGI. I really hate that red box that serves as an "aiming aid". Its Op. Plz nerfz.

There are other issues associated with climate change.

"Methane burps." There are pockets of methane trapped in permafrost which are released by melting ice. Methane traps 30 times more heat than CO2 per equivalent mass. This raises average temperatures causing more permafrost to be melted which in turn releases more methane, creating a vicious cycle.

Of course methane burps haven't been acknowledged by scientists in 5-10 years as the powers that be do not want people to worry or be frightened that their way of life could change.

The CO2 issue could be publicized and exaggerated as it represents the least dangerous and most easily debunked scenario.
