I am hoping this is not already covered, but I would like to see a feature where if you block a player, you are not assigned to a team they are on in QP or FP. This would likely mean a chance of less frequent drops for you, but also less aggravation.
Case in point: Game this morning had a player run off by themselves. They were killed in short order. The player then proceeded to rant over his mic about how lousy a team we were. The next game I dropped with the same player. He repeated the same behavior, ran off, died and then berated the team for not knowing how to play. We won the second game 12 to 3.
If by blocking the player, would have meant I needed to wait longer, it would have been preferable to listening to him rant, and potentially losing because his play style doesn't seem to be helpful.
Yes, we can mute the player's mic, but even so, watching them bad-mouth in the chat is just as bad.

It could be also added, that muting a player could also mutes it's chat. Ranting players usually switch to chat as soon as they become aware that they have "lost their audience".

I'm very confused by this now. I thought the whole point of blocking a player was that they didn't get matched with you again?

Another positive effect of blocking players is that the worst ones would have much longer waiting times since they are so unpopular by the community.
A serial teamkiller would have several times the waiting time of a normal player.
Speaking of annoying players. I played a few matches with a player on my team who would go hide in a corner till the match was nearly over.
Then he would run out and steal kills while telling us we were completly useless. I pulled a prank on him though.
Instead of betraying his position to the enemy team in chat i made the remaining enemies chase me.
Then i ran past his position and he was slaughtered by my angry pursuers. Hearing his complaints then was funny.

This was my intent on this post. Yes, in the short term, I would potentially cause myself a longer wait time, but in the long run, the frustrating player will cause him/herself even longer wait times. AND, if that player should complain to PGI, then PGI could review that players history and (hopefully) deem if they need to take action against them.
This would also mitigate the necessity to investigate every reported player, every single time one is turned in
(and we KNOW they do this )

Lot of potential for abuse, lot of potential for making things harder for an already-laboring matchmaker.

If you block someone using the ingame tool that prevents you from seeing their chat comments as well.
I have yet to see the inanity of anyone I've blocked in game, since blocking them.

Grab a soda from the fridge instead of jumping right into a match. By the time you guzzle your can of Pepsi, the natural rotation of the game will put you in another match without said player being in the match.
