With all these mentions of Hauptmanns and Fafnirs, if we're putting our timetravel hats on, I as one of a truly rare breed- the Lyran Medium Pilot- want my ********* Uziel.

Nothing says 'Scout' like either a Large Laser and LBX, or two PPCs.

It's not really THAT rare after the LA splits off. After all, we make several of the best mediums ever designed, including the absolute best-thing-ever-built, the Blitzkrieg-4F. Basically the DCMS embraced the cavalry heavy, we took a shine to mediums that move like lights.

Sadly, still not here. I am also waiting for the Griffin, another typical Steiner Battlemech.

I'd bet, your Zeus is on the Releaselist.
Not so much for my favorite: The Battlemaster Posted Image

Other Mechs I would want to see are:
- Wolfhound(I'd even change my affiliation to Mercenary, if I can get it painted in Kell Hound colors)
- Tomahawk & Axman(probably not in, unless they implement Mechmelee)
- Javelin & Enforcer(iconic Davions)

Go look at the Phoenix package. If you don't want to spend real money, the CBill version will be out prob around Dec/Jan

I'd rather see a Banshee, its been known that a large number of them exist in the Lyran Commonwealth.

Bump, I want my Banshee 3S back from Solaris days! Was a wicked salt, outfought an atlas any day. Most of the other variants wouldn't hold up in MWO, but the 3S would.

From 01621 House Steiner

So to summarize:
Lights: Commandos
Assaults: Zeus, Atlas

You might add the Griffin, and the P'Hawk, since they are both produced in huge numbers on Hesperus II and Coventry. However, they are not as iconic as the 'Mechs you mentioned, since every House has them in some quantity.

Perhaps a Zeus for a Lyran but it's an Atlas for a Steiner. Which are you?

Hans

Hans drove a Battlemaster.

And 2 Griffins Guard our Archon.

Actually, House Davion has a large number of them prior 3025, the Banshee is one of their main Assault Mechs. However, DefHes starts production of the 3S Banshee after 3025.

I wasn't talking about exclusive mechs, in a game(MWO & BT) were mechs can be a battlefield loot there is alway a chance that a mech from this side of the IS ends up on the other side.

I simply speak of mechs that stand for a faction, just like the German stands for Steiner, the Samurai for Kurita, etc. there are some mechs that stand for a faction and it would be nice if we would get those, the sooner the nicer.

Steiner isn't exclusively German which is a cognate of Stone btw

Its also a variation of the middle English word Stainer or Dyer much the same a Capper as a surname comes from maker of caps/hats.

Also the Lyran comonwealth is comprised of three seperate groups the, Tamar pact, a river in (South West England), the Federation of Skye (Scotish Isle) The Protecterate of Donegal A County in Ireland, also the Lyran comonwealth is taken from the constelation Lyra Latin for harp played in all three nations mentioned, also found on pre christian coins in Gaul.

Earliest mention of harps in germanic culture is about the time of the Anglo Saxons (getting the hint yet).

So other than a name which may or may not be the German family name, there isn't much about the Lyran comonwealth thats well, German, most of it being umm.British or celtic
