Doubt it'll be good, given PGI has pretty poor competence when it comes to programming and the Crysis engine.
This said: Just get MW5: Mercs when it comes out.
It'll be a 1-4 vs dozens upon dozens of computer units with objectives that hopefully mean something.

Sigh, the sheer number of enemies should have wiped that Shadowhawk off the face of the planet. Either it's not taking damage or the enemies are missing all the time.
Nice to know that they can't even balance a single player game...

Yeah all the MW5 vids are like that. The player in an almost invulnerable mech 1-shotting waves of enemies. I hope it's more interesting than it looks.

Duh, isn't that how single all player games work. The player is always some living god.

nah thats exactly the mainstream way of making a single palyer game nowdays, protagonist P walks through hordes of enemies E and owns evertyhing. easy "im so gud" feeling for the player P, who would get crushed in any serious meeting with another Player. the time of challanging and demanding games are over, too much does it cost to make a game, and too much copies need to be sold to find such a playerbase, better get average joe to feel amazing about being able to do the basics.
Oh yeah, and don't forgtwe to tell him how awesome he is after managing to use WASD once.

It's obvious that the players in those vids have a special 'promotion-buff' applied, just look at the virtually infinite ammo-count.
You can be sure that the final product won't be that easy.

So I just wrote a long screed about what I would do to make MWO “great” and after doing so realized that 4 of the steps of the 5 step plan really boils down to “engage and listen to your community, and use them where appropriate” (e.g. get the better and long term players to deal with balance, get the lorenerds to fill in FP descriptions and create events for it, get the chronic terribads to recommend tutorials that they would like to see and then make them, get the skilled with computers and video editing folks to create videos and advertising perhaps even creat some basic maps that could then be completed in house, etc.).
The fifth point btw, was to reset FP to phase 2 but keep conquest map and mode (and maybe incursion if it could be adjusted to actually have some distinctiveness); give the whole thing better and never ending rewards paths that encourage more participation as each of the various play styles (e.g. loyalist, merc) and give in game rewards XP and Cbill rewards that focus on encouraging team play. If the player base voted to keep scouting I’d leave it in too.
Everything else though, from balance to mech roles, to map fixes to whatever came down to engaging, listening and utilizing the community. That’s how I would make MWO great.

It is a demo video, where the goal is to showcase. Can't have a poor dev dying midgame like a scrub.

Remember who was piloting.. Is Russ out of Tier 5 yet? And age has nothing to do with it as I am definitely older than he is.

1. Extract mechs and art assets.
2. Give them to mwo community.
3. Community full of nerds uses better game engine*
4. Community releases mwo 2.
5. No pgi 'balance' team ever.
6. Updates and fixes from mwo community of nerds.
Game engines suggested Unreal and Unity.

You have a few holes, some of which are:
- Who hosts and pays for the servers?
- Who pays for the Unreal or Unity license?
- What does Microsoft have to say about this arrangement?

i'm sure some one will pay for it. just as the star citizen people for some spare funds. They only have a few million or billion sitting around with an release date that always fluctuates to later more than sooner. Or try those eve folks. They must have money to keep a game running for fifteen years.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for"
"You can keep your doctor"
Please tell me more.....
Personally, I prefer, "I am my own grandpa"
