Keep throwing "jokes" about nerfing Clans more and see how many active players you have by the end of year.

Putting gauss to side torsos is asking for trouble, if you take any damage to rear ST, gauss will be critted, blows at 100% chance and you lose ST. And second ST will follow soon. If you use Clan gauss atm, use only mechs with arm mounted ones.

ATM 48 can be fun but certainly not meta.

ATM-48 is utterly a terrible loadout imo, it forces you to make so many sacrifices to run it that its just not a thing outside of trolling (like the lurm fatlas and other occasionally functional but generally bad builds). The only sort of ATM builds ive had luck with were either on a mobile mech with JJs (mediums like the hunsman), or running a hybrid ATM vomit build with 40-50 alfa strike using lasers, and around 24-27 tubes (either 2 12s or 3 9s). That gives me a real weapon to finish people with (or shoot when i cant get a good lock or firing the ATMs would be a waste of ammo), and still gives me enough of a reasonably low heat DPS weapon to punish anything dumb enough to not stick near cover. I used to run that on my MCII-A, 2 HLL, 2ERML, 2ATM-12, and while its not meta, i had ok results. ATM-48 (or even the ATM-36 is just too hot and too slow and lacks real weapons when the ATMs fail to deliver).

Anyways, as to the blood asp, its not teh worst assault in the game, but it suffers from a lack of battlemech customization and inferior hitboxes to its most direct competitor, not to mention terrible gauss locations since it doesnt allow you to arm mount the explosive and thus very vulnurable gausses. The only thing it can run well is the 2 UAC10 2 UAC5 loadout, but in my opinion ist still inferior to the MCII-B since the arms allow you to get the guns on target much quicker and allow you to effectively engage light mechs that are crotchhumping you.

Certainly not meta but it’s fun. You melt just about anything in front of you. Chain fire ATMs and you can keep up quite a bit of spam. Easy to get caught with pants down, stay close to your fellow robros. Now we’re making lemonade.

could get quirks preventing gauss explosion and increasing gauss health
frankly all locations on a mech that comes standard with gauss should probably get such quirks

Sadly, I agree.. It's more of a really big sniper.. although I've had some success with it as a mixed LRM boat (LRM55+4ERML).

Somehow tho, could not make Gauss work.. but that's cose' I suck with Gauss..

P.S.

Yes, I'm also salty about the changes done to the Blood Asp side torsos.

Shockingly, I'm somehow trying to make Gauss work, discovered I might make it work.. Still don't do much damage with it, only 300-400, but I get kills, so I got that going for me..

2xGauss+4xMPL is currently working ok..

Using the same build on Deathstrike.. it's comparable.

If you're getting kmdds, kills, and component destruction that just means you aren't spreading but have lower overall dps. You probably aren't shooting often enough, which I don't blame you for. Blood asp seems to get folded pretty quick.
