Group Queue

Solaris, beautiful concept, but I only faced a few competitors, solaris is even less versatile than the game itself when it comes to builds. Faction, hardly doable without events or dedicated time period. Quick play - might as well just call it solo play, where the teams seem to have only deteriorated. Playing with one of my buds, together, as old days, in group, can't find a game for 30 minutes.
I'd recommend that small groups can be placed both in the regular que as well as the group play que, so that you can at least play with one of your buds. A multiplayer game where you can't play with friends is on the acceleration of suicide.
Best of luck Mechwarriors.

Instead, allow solos into the group queue.

I'm sorry, I thought this was the "just giving people things they have done absolutely nothing to merit" thread.
Sure reads like it, anyway.

After spending an average of 30 mins finding a game we switched to solo drops. Then after seeing the caliber of play in solo, we pretty much stop playing. Friends list is a ghost town, and sadly many openly said they just uninstalled. Where the WC would bring many back after a break, the stock mode didnt give them a reason to.

So you need to have another group of 2 and a group of 8, or a group of 3 and 7, 4 and 6, or 5 and 5. If you don't have one of those combinations, a group cannot be made, so you won't launch. If another group comes along that completes one of the other groups, it may pass you over in the lobby. 2 man groups are probably the most common, so they're often used as fillers for other groups, so you may have to wait a while for your "turn" to fill into to complete a bigger group.
Try forming a group of 4-5 people, it usually goes faster.

The bi-weekly "put Groups into SoloQ" thread is upon us once again

Im guessing because outside of around a 2-3 hour window, group queue is pretty dead. For the last month or two we cant find a match on any server

Even QP has been the same. There has been a 30% population drop in 2 months (40k down to 28k)... So there is that which is definately hurting. I fear if it continues we will see the lowest every recorded population end of this month

If it's coming up so frequently, then there's probably a good reason for it. Might be worth considering something that is so frequently called into question.

The real abuse is 6+ people all in the off-shore voice chat programm trolling around in pirhannas and other obnoxious mechs that take advantage of coordinated numbers.

After playing in QP for a while, I started to be frustrated by people there, and wanted to start playing in premade groups instead. So I tried using looking for group feature, and guess what? It's a ghost town. Just waiting and waiting and nothing is happening.
What should I do?

You and your boy being on a separate chat than the rest of the team...it really hurts cohesiveness.
I've found that I have to jump into in game coms to move people around properly or else what you end up with is a lance doing somethings, 2 pairs of duos doing other things, then you have the PUGs, that are doing god knows what...
Group isn't really any better than QP outside of running 6-10-12 mans. Other than that I don't see a difference really.

A player without benefit of a partner drops into a match and over the course of play has to square off against two players who built and dropped in coordination. NARC light + LRM80 assault maybe, maybe something else, whatever.
The worst thing that could happen is that the player without benefit of a partner, through no decision of their own, must play the game at a distinct disadvantage. I don't see what the use is of trying to balance any of the mechs or weapons if you're going to let groups whup up on solos anyway.

Conversely, a group with coordinated builds squaring off against isolated rando PUGs will enjoy a distinct battlefield advantage, which they have done absolutely nothing to earn, hence my earlier post.
So tired of hearing how play in solo queue is god awful from people just dying to get in there with a 2-4 man premade.

You refer to one person. I am referring to a collective of multiple people/users who have mentioned this. They are not the same, no matter how much you wish it was for the sake of your analogy.
