I run a Hunchback IIC Quad UAC2, Direwolf wid with Heaps of UAC2
What not to like boating a weapon with decent DPS, Huge range, front loaded damage without spread.
Currently its kinda the meta for many divisions in Solaris as well.
Plus you can core an unattentive enemy from a kilometre away.
Never mixed UAC5s and UAC 2's,generally I just boat UAC 2's due to range different to UAC 5's
I prefer to mix UAC5's with UAC 10's as the ranges sync better

I have a bad habit of just holding down my firing button.

Yes its safer but their good up close as well with that DPS, plus anything that gets closer is already half rekt due to previous ranged fire.
I've often enough run the hunchie in scouting with good success when paired with regualr scouting mech types.
I soften them up when their out of range and can't shoot back so my brawler team mates have an easier time of it. And if I get in a brawl Quad Uacs 2 are still pretty effective due to dps and cooler running that most laser builds. Just aim guid.
People may complain about sharing armour, but if your being a pain in the A$$ and drawing fire away from a team mate thats almost the same thing.
Only thing about such builds it the high face time required though with the amount of torso twisting I see these days thats not too big a problem.

Honestly UAC2 fires fast enough it does fine just holding the button down without double taps alot of the time.
Then it acts like a regular AC2 with no Jams.
Double taps is like turbo booast with a chance of boast failure due to reasons.
When you boat you specialise and mostly are always gonna beat a generalist if you stick to your niche/strengths.

DPS and range, those are advantages.
End of the day it depends on the mech you are talking about as well as to what works better.

I've never used a weapon that jammed and I hate starting now. But then, I can't really be killed here, lol.
