While I've been seeing the odd Atlas here and there on either my team or the enemy team, and all I've seen were LRM/RAC builds - I know that supposedly the "standard" atlas build would be the AC20/SRM6s, but I have yet to see this from other players. Just wondering what happened to those?
*also, I see those HGR/MRM builds and they seem alright, tips for playing those?

Standard Atlas?

The one with UAC20 + MRM60 does alright.

Well nowadays brawling in general is pretty dead playstyle overall and that coupled with the fact that Atlas lost a lots of its torso twist speed with the engine desync update. So its not all that great anymore for that purpose.
Thats why you see more mid range builds on it for the people who even bothers using it at all.

absolutely. thats easily the best atlas build right now. unfortunately the AC20/SRM6 configuration has really fallen behind.
SRMs still need to be buffed (needs higher damage per missile; probably 2.3 for IS and 2.15 for clans)
because they dont compete with MRMs. x4 SRM6 just doesnt compete with x2 MRM30 at all.
the AC20 needs to be buffed too of course (needs faster cooldown and higher velocity).
but yeah those weapons being subpar definitely hurts the standard "brawler" atlas.

I also submit that the 2 mechs (AS7-D-DC and AS7-S) have structure quirks which are inferior to the armor quirks of the other Atlases.
Another factor is that more front loaded damage loadout (SRMs and ACs) vs dps'y (MRM's and RAC/UAC) would do a bit better if you could torso twist a bit faster. Generally, more agility would is needed.

I'm glad I skip out of those two as they had nothing to offer when it comes to quirks in mind and pick up the AS7-D because it's armor quirks and I can easily set up the UAC20 +MRM 60 build on it and call it a day.
