I was Ninja'd LOL! I posted this over in BattleTech discussion too, but I think you beat me to it Juodas :)

I can't wait to get a better look at the Hatchetman. From what I can tell though, it looks pretty cool. I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a hand on the hatchet arm, but the hatchet seems to be integrated right in to the arm. It's an interesting choice.

It makes sense though as the Hatchetman will...probably...always have the hatchet equipped :)

Those missile hardpoints don't correspond to any Hatchetman variant on Sarna.

Considering that I am having a full 400 ton lance already, I doubt Hatchetman is gonna attract me back into the game. :(

HBS Battletech has a similar customization system to MWO.

Probably a custom loadout.

Yeah, but they generally don't add hardpoints to sections that don't have that weapon type in the stock loadout. I don't think there are any Hatchetman variants with missiles in the left torso.

HBS did add one interesting wrinkle with support hardpoints allowing MGs or small lasers and flamers, but there are no support missile weapons.

Shame it looks like a Quick Draw with an Axe.

It says new Mech's

Plural not singular,

So I'm still a little pumped, just not as much as I would be if it looked like a Hatchet Man.

If the other mechs turn out to be the Mech's missing from the alpha build then Extremely pumped, more so than for the Hatchet Man

Nah, not pumped, it's the Cyclops and The crab.

When the missing unseen arrives then I'll spend

The big questions...

Did Alex design it?

Is it available for PGI for MWO or failing that MW5?

with those missiles, it looks more to be an axeman than a hatchetman.
either way: yay :)

Well PGI, I don't see a reason, why not to implement the Hatchetman now.

Just add Hatchet as a pernament bolt-on et voila!

;)

Yes it is Posted Image.

Here is some info on it...

The first-ever BATTLETECH expansion comes complete with three new ‘Mechs (including the highly anticipated Hatchetman), a challenging new mission type, and a new tropical biome, along with its featured namesake, Flashpoints. Flashpoints are high-stakes branching short stories, comprised of procedural mercenary missions linked together with new crew conversations, special events, critical choices, and valuable rewards. To ramp up the intensity, some Flashpoint stories will feature “Consecutive Deployments” in which players won’t be able to repair their ‘Mechs between missions.

KEY FEATURES
• Flashpoints - Test your command skills in a series of action-packed short stories, completing extended contracts to earn big bonuses
• New Biome - Navigate a lush tropical beach environment, with sunny shores and just a pinch of alien flare, for good measure. Sunscreen optional.
• New BattleMechs - Get your ‘Mech on with the armor-chopping power of the Hatchetman, the speed and versatility of the Crab, and the multi-range firepower of the Cyclops.
• New Encounter - In “Target Acquisition”, you’ll put your light and medium ‘Mechs to good use by taking control of three territories on the map to prevail!

You can tell it's not a PGI design... it is tall and slim, with a small frontal profile.
If PGI had done the Hatchetman it would have been twice as wide, at the very least, and much easier to hit.
