I'll start off be saying this dicussion

So today at 18:00 PDT we are going to have the first AMA session that has most people feeling nervous about. This particular AMA was originally scheduled for July 19th 2019 had had most us up in arms when a delay to the session was announced. Why is this AMA making me and most others nervous? The Epic Game Store is why, if you don't know the controversy behind this just type "Epic Game Store" in YouTube and you'll learn pretty darn quick. So let's discuss.

Epic Exclusivity

This is by far the biggest concern I have and correct me if I'm wrong but, no cloud saves, no modding support (maybe why we haven't seen the modding AMA), no offline mode, no friends list, lack of cart system in-store, no wish list feature and the list goes on. having no cloud saves is the biggest piss off because it's 2019 and everything from phone apps to your picture gallery has this feature. This means if you use multiple computers like myself you'll just have to have to run completely different playthroughs or have a thumb stick to travel with you, or worse, what if you have to reformat your PC and forget to backup that data? No mod support... I'm not even going to talk about this because it's self explanatory on why it's an issue. How is Co-op going to work without a friends list? Being forced to use such an inferior platform where the chance of losing features that make this title stand out from all the others is so frustrating. I've been waiting for years for this title and I don't want to wait another 12 months for it to be on a platform that actually respects and caters to the consumer and first and for most allows for the marketed features (again not entirely sure so correct if I'm wrong) to be present.

Can there be be a positive to this issue?

Something that I've been keeping in mind when feeling anger over this issue and possibility is PGI will receive compensation for going exclusive and a "break even" guarantee (again, correct me if I'm wrong), which means they'll have more support keep producing for of this amazing franchise.

It's important to realize that without PGI we wouldn't be playing these games we love so much and for I thank them. This was post was huge, scattered and probably full of grammar mistakes... sorry.

The only positive would be if PGI needed the funds due to MWO's performance and MW5 delays. Making games is pricy and tough, and this might be more of a life raft than we will ever know.

Now, we as customers aren't responsible for PGI's management or MWO, or it's budget, so us having to take the brunt of deceit isn't fair, however it is what it is I suppose.

Luckily refunds seem easy to get. If they would have denied refunds, that would have really been bad.

Does allowing refunds also count as a positive?

MW5...no download, no support, and don't get me started on cloud as I do not care for it. I want the whole game on my PC so I can play OFFLINE like the originals.

GLAD I didn't pay into this, but still wait to see how this pans out...but I'm starting to feel its a lost cause.

Burned any last shred of faith I had in PGI.

I knew it was coming,it was a matter of time. With how much criticism has been laid at Russ and PGI's feet for years,I can see why he so readily hopped on the Epic coin purse. No refunds? No reviews or curation? No mod support? LEss effort to build the game, faster to get it shipped.

They could have kickstarted it,they could have done so much more for it,but no,they chose to do preorders. Didn't they learn from The Founders Era? Apparently not.

Well, from the looks of all the “refund” posts in other related threads, it looks like they made out pretty well out of the deal. They got some amount of swag for a game they still play and ended up spending absolutely nothing for it. I am not seeing the downside.

This fact today only underscores PGI's mismanagement of MWO and shows that they, more than ever, simply don't care about us consumers and fans.

Epic Game Store has serious problems right now and its the main reason why I don't trust "Epic Fail Store" to do anything right. I mentioned concerns about this back in April and the fact that Tim Sweeny is trying to hurt communities all over various game franchises for the sake of changing the "Cut" on pay cut. If PGI gave people who already pre-ordered the choice of what platform first hand because we didn't agree to "Epic Fail Store", It would've been ok. However; Those idiots don't realize that Steam's Pay Cut is actually Fair than what they care to realize. Steam's cut goes to supporting the platform itself. Epic Game Store's however; does not.

Steam has other various features that supported their games. Epic Game Store from what I've seen, DOES NOT.

Many of us including myself have told PGI not to engage in any sort of F-U-C-K-E-R-Y and that's exactly what they did. PGI right now does not deserve the right to carry the MechWarrior license anymore. They fked up and they know it.

Microsoft just needs to yank the PGI licence for Mechwarrior. They cant be blind to how well Battletech the game sold(as much of a dumpster fire and mary sue story it is). Years of mismanagement, and ******** on the community doesn't look too good in MS's books I imagine

Even more so if they saw that the Clan revival project by Catalyst got a million dollars for it. There's money here. And PGI doesnt deserve a penny of it.

Oh they did in fact. They've learnt that they can blatantly scam people without any consequences whatsoever. If there is anyone who hasn't learned from the Founders Era it is people still buying/pre-ordering stuff from PGI.
