In addition, it seems that 2 x Steam numbers (actually 2.x) seems to be a good approximation of the total active playing population, if I recall correctly.

qp is the worst... random game mode and map means you can't take specialized builds otherwise you run the risk of being useless. I'd never take a 6 ERLL battlemaster to qp because if you get mining colony it's not very useful, but on alpine or polar it's amazing. Also having random teammates is terrible, having a group you can rely on is so much better.

huh? fp and qp builds are completely different and what builds and decks you bring are completely random for either mode. fp traps you with the worst players for over 30minutes while qp is just a quick and less painful 5-10 minutes

and a barrage of losses
like a loosing streak for hours, if your in bad luck, and usually you are
also you have to adapt to the time playing, European prime time is LRM'ing time
edit:
the reason why I joined a team way back was because of a 15 games loosing streak, that hasn't changed in solo QP really

but youre pointing out the common factors of both modes? im not sure what youre trying to say, also groups are not an indicator of quality, you smash them easily enough anywhere

Most of MWO,S problems since day 1 have been upper management and there bad decisions coupled with lack of community involvement and support plus low Social adaptions to the game like a universal chat and lobby system for new player involvement and retention.

builds and decks are absolutely not random for FP... you know the map and mode before you pick your mechs. Yes, FP and QP builds are completely different, mostly because QP builds need to be generic to work in all situations, so you can't take specialized mechs like LRM boats, ER snipers, or Brawlers without possibly gimping your team if you get a bad map. I'm not trapped with the worst players, I almost never play FP outside a group of at least 5 other guys I know are good. If I want to play FP, I log into MWO, see who's on, and find some people to play with. If nobody is on, I simply don't play... I'll goof off in the mech lab or customizing mechs until a few people I know come on, and then I'll try to get in on some FP. I've dropped with MS, ISMO, BCMC, EVIL, EMP, HHoD, T, DSX, TCAF, and a couple other units. Just gotta make enough friends (and be OK at the game so you're an asset to any team) and finding groups doesn't usually take that long.
I do wish I had more luck finding decent teams to play against though. Seal clubbing isn't much fun (ok sometimes it is though), I'd rather play against another 5+ man group instead of random skittles.

Yes as the population dwindles all that is left is the diehards that love the game but refuse to uninstall and PGI really should check the IP of some players from Client to server and what passes through there resident memory altering the bits? The only competition these 10% of the top leader boards has is others like them altering bits to play and ruin the gameplay for the rest of the honest playing people in MWO.

Bro... I've seen you in FP before. You should really work on improving your game before you accuse other people of hacking. Just because people are better than you doesn't mean they are hacking, it just means they can either aim better, pick better mechs, or have better teamwork. Or some combination of those things. I have -never- seen anyone hacking in this game.

Doesn't make my point invalid. You will see much faster queue, once this lootbag event switches to QP.

Now this makes me laugh. Most of the top 10% of the players in the Jarl's list are not that good, much less good enough to be accused of hacking.

I have played against you and with you many times in FP your not a bad player but I have seen you also get locked behind buildings and objects that you should not have been and focus fired down the minute you show any movement out behind a object, Hum wonder how that happens?
Two things here to consider one as the population numbers of MWO have declined PGI has introduced AI players that have a ability to hold a lock on players even behind objects and never miss using there built in AIM ability's or PGI needs to revisit locking down client to server bits and any altered bits the player is ejected from the game? Sounds legit to me and PGI should have done this years ago.
But like the op says wait times will get longer as more player uninstall because of the madness going on in MWO.

.... because there is a spotter or UAV somewhere that we didn't notice, or they used the "target spotted" wheel to line up a shot on me as I come around a building and prefire as I'm popping out of cover.
I do these things myself, and have had them done to me. It's not hacking, its simply using the in-game mechanics and teamwork.

I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next paranoid basement dweller but .... to suggest the creators of the Escort Atlas could program AI players is on the same level as suggesting the earth is flat.

95%'er right here and if I were hacking I'd be the worst hacker in the history of the universe. Lol. I shouldn't even be in Tier 1.

Incorrect.
Jarls list is only updated at the end of season (monthly) when the data is released by PGI APIs.
It never has / does not show - current season stats.
I played 216 games last season. Jarls shows me as having played 216 games.
I've played 36 so far this season. Jarls is not showing them anywhere.
