I recently got the supernova hero "Boiler." What are the best builds for it? (For QP)

Its a pretty disappointing mech. No quirks at all to make it viable against other assaults or give it parity with similar shaped clan mechs that have weapon quirks like the Direwolf or Warhawk.

Running 2 LB20s, 2 ATM 9s, 3 ER smalls. It's everything I thought the King Crab would be, but better!

Is a bit hot. But a flexible build over all.

Yeah I know you'll have to learn to aim :P

3ppc, 2 lbx 5, l-ams, 3 tons of ammo and heatsinks :P
This build was amazing in the recent pts but it struggles in live
Having lower arm actuators with the lbx's makes this mech amazingly effective against incoming light mechs though so it's a decent rear guard

2LB20, 3SRM6A XL300 - 4 tons of SRM AMMO, 5 tons LB20 ammo. the rest dhs. 76 alpha with a 1.63 HE means about 3 full wrecking salvos before ya need to start fire control.

Otherwise the dual gauss 3 ERLL is solid. 2LBX10, 2largepulse, 1 ERPPC is ok too.

I have a lot of success with 2xAC10, 3xmpl, 3xsrm6a, 2xJJs. 77pt alpha, very heat manageable and pretty fierce in a knife fight. With the low arms you either want the goose-erll build Bandito put up or a pushy close brawler. The profile is very low and at close range if you're using the JJs you'll spread hits on the arms and legs + torsos. It's actually a better point blank brawler for me than the MC MKII "Scorch" build.

It's not great for mid range but it supports a decent long range build (though the MC MKII does that better) and a strong brawl setup.

If he wants a 90 ton Clan brawler, I'd suggest him the Keeper instead.

What does one run on a Keeper? Two LB20, four SRM6 with no Art?

You can fit Artemis into those four launchers if you want, at the expense of some heat, or speed. IMO Clan Assault brawlers should have Artemis on those CSRM6s.

The Keeper is a strong choice but I've consistently found the Boiler a better performer. Better profile, the mounts give tighter SRM and MPL grouping. You can actually put your torso mounts on an ankle-biting Piranha and with the JJs and squat build you'll spread damage to arms and legs + torsos. Plus the ability to put out 41pts accurately on 1 component at 500m helps a lot on closing. CAC10 doesn't have ballistic drop.

I always find HGN IIC to be so CT fragile.
