Maybe if we do a daily post on this thread, like we did with the Urbie for more than a year, they'll finally give us the Crusader.

It took 2 years of repeated yammering to get a bagpipe warhorn. But it finally happened. Admittedly this is more work... but worth it.

Still remember that mech? I barely do because pretty much no one is playing it anymore!

Except it will be a step forward on its own. A Grand Dragon is just a dragon with different hardpoints. Same hitboxes, same model. Easy street to crank out. But this would be an entirely new chassis, which means they'd be doing that again. And that's good for the game.

(And so is getting a few thousand people to buy a mech pack, which this would also do.)

What would you suggest instead? The game has 800 something 'mechs already, most things aren't really going to do something that another 'mech can't also do...

Is there anything left to get excited over other than nostalgia and Clan BattleMech power creep?

All the variants are pretty much the same hard point wise so there's not even any reason to buy more than one mech.

CRD 3R is the base chassis. 4 missile (ra, rt, lt, la)(since leg hardpoints are not used in MWO), 2 energy (ra, la), 2 ballistic (ra, la)
CRD 3L has jump jets
CRD 5K has additional CT energy hardpoints
CRD 5S replaces ballistic slots in each arm with additional energy slot in each arm
CRD 7L has ECM
CRD 8S has a ballistic in high LT like a shadowhawk, mounting a heavy gauss rifle

And those are just the variants available to the current timeline.

I'm all for the Crusader and Longbow, and I don't even have the nostalgic ties to those mechs. If we ever did get a return of mechpacks again then I hope the Firemoth (with downgraded engine but quirks to make it up) and the Stone Rhino follow shortly after.

Being a Btech fan since 1984 the Crusader has been my favorite mech.
