Per my ever going campaign on the NGNG streams and discord, I decided to post something here. Anyone who has played MW4 and Mechcommander Desperate Measures or seen any tabletop material should know what the Nova Cat head really looks like. Head needs to be an aggressive pike-nose and the lower arms must be higher up. Feet could be a little bigger and the walk animation is completely broken too.
MWO's sad fishbowl simply doesn't cut it.
They fixed the Blood Asp's cosmetics to match the original design, at the cost of some hitbox benefits. They ruined the Night Star arms to make the community happy. Apparently the Charger may receive an updated more accurate head model.
What about the iconic Nova Cat?

I always envision the Nova Cat as per the MW4 intro. It's menacing form stalking around as it blast some hapless vehicle. The head definitely needs to look more mean. Not this rounded up football helmet nonsense.
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm not Clan player. But out of boredom and an interest to better understand the enemy, I've been purchasing Clan mechs. The Nova Cat has hit a special place for me. It's no easy mode. You have to really work to use the high tonnage it has. Due in large part to its low slung arms. Easily becoming my favorite Clan mech. Where as the Hellbringer felt good right out of the box and doesn't require nearly as much effort to do well.

part of the issue is animations for sure... even mechcommander's 2-d animated novacat had a way cooler walk than MWO's version

Looks the same to me... so why complain, just say Phaket and move on.

I've disliked the head of the Nova Cat ever since it was released. It looks out of place and doesn't match the rest of the mech. Like others have said it looks like they threw a football helmet on there and called it a day. It needs to be more flat on the top and more angular in the front.

The bigger issue with the Nova Kitten is that its arms dangle down lower than they're supposed to on the in-game model.

Idk I like the head positioning it make the mech have a condesending look to it. Give the sense of superiority over others.

In my opinion it's not just these things(walking animation, head, arms) but i don’t know if it is just me but whenever i take look at this picture and after that the in game model even the shoulder width compared to the legs is off too. I mean here in the art the side torsos are mostly in line with the legs but in the game it looks like it's walking on chopsticks or something it's like double the width there especially in 3rd person view. I think they really need to take a look at that too.

What do you expect? PGI is just recycling old animation, mechparts and simply putting new skins over older mech meshes. See Nightstar -> King Crab, the Sun Spider homunculus and so many more. They try to milk the BT comunity as cheap as possible before they turn of the lights after integrating PvP in MW5.
