I was wondering why some of the better maps like Canyon were coming up more often. Didn't even notice that Escort Mode was gone until I read the patch notes saying that it is back. I think PGI would find that most players like the maps that do not support Escort better than they like playing on Escort mode.

I didn't know some maps didn't support it. If so, that's definitely a problem. Either add support for all maps or remove it until they decide to add support for all maps.

You don't have to have all maps support all game modes. It's a design decision ripe for failure.

What PGI should do is get rid of both map and game mode voting and replace it with map-game mode pairs selected at random.

It's pretty screwed up that some of the most popular maps in the game show up once every 10 matches, just so Forest can show up once every 3 and get picked once every 30.

More hilarious is that this happens because the unpopular map supports an even more unpopular game mode.

No. What they should have done is had dedicated game lobbies, both official permanent ones with their's own visible playlist of maps and modes as well as player created rooms. Player created rooms that allows the room host to set their own map play-lists with their own chosen game modes (along with other settings), all available through a lobby browser. You know.. like a real, proper multiplayer game. Then players could play the maps and modes they actually want to play either by joining existing rooms or creating their own.

The random map, random mode, random match maker bs MWO has had since launch has always been nothing but a cop-out. I realize it will never change at this point, but nonetheless this is still the answer to what they "should" have done.

I definitely agree that voting should be removed and that it should all be random. The pairing would be nice as well.

i was annoyed that my favorite mode escort was not being shown. i think pgi should make up for this by making escort only pop up for a day to make up for lost times. also incursion is also a good mode, luckily managed to play it so it wasnt down luckily.

I hate the voting.. I get so sick of playing the same 2 maps and modes all night long...

Go back to random maps, and pick your mode.

If it takes you longer to get matches because all you want to play is one mode, so be it..

It would also let all the people that want to play incursion, or escort for example the chance to play them with out listening to all the complaining every time those modes actually win, 1 out of 50 matches.

Would be like the old days when i used to just checkbox conquest, and it had a small number of folks playing and we would run into each other all night long and have a blast.. while the main player base would just play skirmish Worked very well IMO

It needs more work to say the least, it could be a lot of fun, and function like a domination style setup with a moving goal, and honestly it is pretty close to a decent enough game setup, I think maybe the choice to go with a single atlas that ponderously changes its path was a poor one, not only in design for gameplay but also in the aesthetics of having your charlie lance dropped off in a space ship to transport a mech 1/4th the size of said charlie lance... Nevermind don't think about it.. ;)
