Anyone else having this issue. It's so bad and predictable that it's suspiciously rigged.

Surely there's something fundamentally wrong to lose so much. Even when you carry and are three kills up somehow the game goes **** you you're getting stomped again.

Common denominator of course is myself but as I said even when I pull 700 damage games with kills and kmdd's my team reliably just crumbles.

It makes making progress for things like events down right infuriating.

Don't feel bad. Mostly it's assault pilots who think their job is holding up the rear (REMFs, the lot of them). My sanity is eroding - I tend to just grin and bear it, but I'm actually commenting in game about it.

Might be time to hang it up.

Stop playing quick play. Find a group of regulars through teamspeak or discord and drop with them. Wins or losses are in your control then, rather than random bad puggles. You can tweak mechs and tactics to suit the map and mode. So much better than quick play.

Good groups do tend to win more often. I think my group w/l is about 2x what my solo is. That said, I always end up playing something in the 45-65 ton range when in group. Can't drop light, and trying to balance assaults and lights is always tricky if you're not a regular group. If you want to play the mech you want to play, solo is often the best choice.

This isn't meant to be disparaging or anything, just simply going by your average match score for this season your w/l rate and k/d ratio is about the same as others averaging the same match score.

*Edit*
The only thing that's slightly on the high side is deaths, perhaps being more careful in your positioning or pulling back to second line once your armor is gone will help your team a bit more.

So when you load your mech with only LRMs and no other weapons. Once the lines of players you are hiding behind crumbles you have nothing left to fight with as the enemy gets within you minimum range for your LRMboat. I've witnessed you do this, sooooo... However not saying you are a bad pilot because you are not. Just saying change up your play style a bit and your matches will not always be the same.

Had some pretty bad games myself today. Looking at the people on the teams, it appears that I'm the one with the highest percentile on my team in a lot of games, being matched against 2 or 3 others with similar percentiles. Then factor in some really bad teammates, and you get the picture. Look, I'm okay, at about 92 percentile...but I'm not capable of carrying every team, especially not by myself.

Had one game where our Annihilator decides to go wandering off by himself to cap on Caustic Conquest, despite me typing in chat that he was committing suicide. Maybe I should have told him he was possibly throwing the game as well, seeing as it was a 0-12 stomp at the end. Also, last player alive was in a Timberwolf, hiding the whole match. By the time he finally faced an enemy, we were all dead, he still had 99% health (his leg took damage from collision with a teammate), and he accomplished nothing despite not being AFK. Sometimes QP just hates you, sometimes it loves you.

Starting to think I should start dropping only with dedicated groups.

I'm winning far more SQ matches than losing. Perhaps PGI messed with the MM algorithm so that Founders have better chance of winning? Certainly skill has nothing to do with it? :P

Yep it's rigged. So is map/mode voting. Ever notice how map votes always end up with you dropping into the same map twice in a row? Damage modeling is also rigged. Ever notice how you can die from CT shots at range, while the rest of you is barely scratched? Arty strike are also rigged. Can never fire them off, someone's already triggered the global lockout. Events are rigged too, they happen without me knowing in advance. Stream giveaways are the biggest thieves. They're so rigged. I never win anything!

Now you have a fair comment there I've only been playing lrm boats recently as I was away one week and lurms was all my lowly laptop could handle. And generally speaking the easy damage that they afforded was welcome as I'm usually a front line player and have got fed up of the teams Nascaring or (john) Rambo'ing so over the last two weeks I've thought **** it and damaged farmed.

Not ideal I know but lurms are easy damage and it boosts match score for things like the event and to be honest with such pathetic teams it's where I have the most success.

If teams would stop Nascaring or running of in random directions to get killed one by one I'll be more than happy to get back in my brawlers as I usually am.

**Edit I should clarify that this has been going on for a lot longer than a couple of weeks, more like since the PSR put me in T1**

I bet you were playing a lot during the weekends too am i right? Qp is pure cancer in the weekends there are a lot of good players but the bad ones certainly outweigh them. Captain Hindsights are the best when they start throwing their **** around at the end of the round yet they didnt make calls at all throughout the entire match. I myself tend to be on the wrong end of the stick in qp a lot of times but i dont think it is rigged in any way. As others said get into a good communicating group and drop with them.

I use a gaming mouse if that's what you mean able to use four weapon groups although i tend to try and stick to no more than three if it can be helped.

I typically like to play brawler and mid range, i like Crit weapons and dakka dps. As already mentioned i'll dust off my lurm boats if i have to play on the laptop for whatever reason or i'm just too fed up of front loading. I prefer mediums and heavies but i do have some fond lights like the locust and a stealth javelin which can save the day at times. Lately i've been driving assaults though as i'm trying to improve my play style there but these are the worst weight class in game and borderline futile in SQ. Also i've had a bit of a spending spree so i'm working through a lot of lowly skilled mechs (which if six years in game has taught me anything unskilled mechs seems to have particularly poor luck of the draw) Seeing a pattern there yet?

However even when i dust off my statistically high scoring mechs like my king crabs, my firebrand, bushwacker, even my blackjack 1x there's only so much i can do and it's gets so frustrating and consequently salty (i may as well rename to Sodium Kat) when three minutes in match after match your already at 2-6

I have been playing a couple of group queue matches lately but it seems to carry over there too. Not as bad and usually if we get stomped its for a good reason so not a problem. But what i'm getting at is 95% of quickplay matches are just with utterly terrible players which brings your own score down with it. I did have one good match the other night With Hades (and ares) MW who does a fantastic (if not slightly ott) job of drop calling but nice coordinated matches like this are so welcome yet so rare.

This is the 3rd thread in a short about the same proplem… maybe it's time for pgi to fixt the matchmaker?

Here is an old post about the matchmaker… https://mwomercs.com...aker-is-unfair/

It seems that the matchmaker has something like a "gravitation" or tendency to put the better Players in one Team and the other team has worse players. I made some screenshots (and checked the jarls-list) for myself to find out if this is true.
Well... sometimes there is clearly a difference and sometimes there are slight nuances between the teams.
I think it's time to get rid of the old tier-System and it is better to balance the players or teams with a mix of matchscore/wL/Kd - Ratio.

Or how it how it is interpreted. PSR (Player Skill Rating) should have been named PEL (Player Experience Level - Appogee). And the results of the thread linked shows what happens MOST of the time with the "better" team, what would anyone expect? And the stats reflect BOTH Solo and Group queue information. Since the Competitive queue could be considered a separate group queue, is it also included in those stats? /shrugs.

And when discussing being carried, that is not just what the player does with their mech but also what they do with the team, ie communication, pushing, keeping things rolling, ie herding the cats...

If that's true (which looks to be very likely) i'm going to have to farm the system with MWO easy mode Lurms to claw myself out of the pigeon hole the PSR looks like its put me in. Posted Image Posted Image

In fact that thread makes worrying reading in that the game is deliberately making cannon fodder teams to boost the already 'lucky' teams. So it's no surprise that thread after thread including this one is appearing on a regular basis about the MM being broken and even Paul has started (and seemingly ignored) about 'MM updates'.

also, this topic is as old as the game itself (I guess. surely for my time, though).
there are certain streaks where you win/lose for more than you think is right. they even themselves out I guess, but yeah - they feel unbalanced.
thing is: it's QP. having a 'good' match there (depending how you define good ofc) is .. rare. if you want consistent good games, group up with people you like / suit your gamestyle and make them happen.

for me, best matches IMO are when you get 2 good teams of similar skill, beating the crap out of each other. winning or losing doesn't matter. both sides usually have fun in this.
you'll never have that in QP.. but it's only a click and some comms away Posted Image

Well yesterday I played nine matches and won the first eight. The ninth match however I swapped mechs from my Roughneck reaver brawler build ( 2x LB10x and 4x medium lasers) to my brand spanking new Direwolf Ultraviolet (6 x LB5x and a pair of hvy mediums). I had never piloted a Direwolf before, the match was Terra Therma (most players are unaccustomed to hot maps) and the first thing one of my lancemates did was drive their Madcat MKII waaay waaay out onto a flank solo during a skirmish and got killed when he found most of the enemy team there....so the game was looking kinda high on the spud scale from the get go.
